Chapter 34 - Dancing in The Rain

Luke: I wanted to hold your hands that night.

Areum finally smiled at Lucas.

"Mr.Right.com wanted me back." he informed her.

"Welcome back." Areum said giggling. "Do you know what happens next after this?" she asked.

"You kick me?" he asked, stepping back to protect himself from evil Areum.

Areum giggled taking his hands. Lucas smiled when he thought that they are going to just hold hands and wait for the rain to stop, but instead, Areum pulled him towards the rain.

It would've been good if they ran towards the door but Areum thought of something else. The two of them danced in the rain like they were kids.

"This is acid rain, Areum." Lucas doubted to dance but seeing Areum that happy with that smile made him happy too.

Although he only stood there watching her he was enjoying himself watching her.

"When do we go up?" Lucas asked.

"When the rain stops." Areum responded, still dancing and running around the pavement like a child. She looks like someone who enjoyed her childhood.

Lucas was drowned in depression after the accident. He never got the chance to dance in the rain or play while raining. He was locked up in his room, blaming himself of what happened.

He has forgotten all the childhood memories that he's ever experienced.

After running around for too long, Areum's energy was drained, but the rain was still pouring heavily.

"Areum, stop that." Lucas chased her but she ran away from him towards the park. Her energy was overflowing now that she has a playmate, unlike before when Lucas was just watching her dance.

"You're going to get a fever if you stay here any longer." Lucas yelled as she chased her, finally picking her up from the ground.

"Let go of me!" Areum struggled. Even if she falls on the ground she didn't care at all. She wasn't afraid to get a scratch.

"You're acting like a kid. Someone has to act like the adult so you won't get a fever." Lucas said putting her down as soon as they reached the dorm's corridors.

"This is the boy's dorm." Areum glared at Lucas who kept walking to the stairs. She followed behind him.

"It's not like we can fit ourselves back in your dorm. Take a bath at Mark's dorm so you won't catch a fever." Lucas told her, unlocking Mark Lee's dorm room door.

The two of them went in and it was surprisingly empty. Maybe all of their friends fell asleep back on the girls' dorm. It was already late anyway.

Lucas threw a fresh towel towards Areum and some fresh clothes to change into. She took a shower first because Lucas was extremely concerned that she might catch a fever.

Lucas now took his chance to clear his messy bed and throw everything inside his closet. After making the room look clean, Lucas started cooking ramyun for the two of them.

Areum came out of the bathroom shortly after Lucas was done cooking ramyun. Perfect timing because now, they can now get some early breakfast.

"Go ahead and take a bath." Areum told Lucas who's clothes already looks dry. He might catch a fever.

"I have to eat first." Lucas muttered without planning to get up. Food is the only thing that he wants right now. No fever or any sickness can scare him when he has newly cooked ramyun.
