"The most dangerous lies are the ones you tell yourself."
...
"Jackson hyung is so cool. Can you imagine, we might meet the president tonight." Lucas told Areum as they unpacked their things at their hotel room.
Areum looked kinda absent minded and irritated.
"We should take a picture with him to remember this day." Lucas said making Areum throw her dress across the room. Lucas was shocked at her sudden anger, but then again she might have her period. This might be just mood swings.
"Remember this day for what? A president? I'd remember this day if we take pictures with CL, GD, Taeyang, Siwon, Yesung, Lee Donghae and Eunhyuk! Not some politician. I'm not even fond of politics. I never bothered to register and vote because I don't want to be a part of something so corrupted, staged and fake." she spat before proceeding towards the terrace.
Lucas didn't know that she hates China that bad. Was it China or Politics in General? Who would hate this president? He's responsible and reliable.
Ever since he ruled, everybody said the country's been different.
Lucas followed Areum on the terrace and saw her staring at the clouds with a smile. They were gray and seems like it's about to rain. Does she like the rain so much? Why does she look so happy all of a sudden?
Areum now smirked at the garden near the pool watching the employees retrieve the tables and chairs they've prepared all day long, moving it to the activity lounge.
Like a psychopath, she smiled at Lucas in happiness. "This way, the event would be exclusive, right? We won't have to see the fucking royal family." she spat leaving Lucas hiss in disbelief.
"Now you're being too much. They're not the royal family. They're humble, kind and generous. The president put the country first out of anything else." Lucas babbled leaving Areum snorting in laughter.
He stopped trying to figure out what he said wrong and which of his sentences are wrong.
"You're so fucking innocent my dear naive Lucas." she said pinching Lucas's cheeks as if he was a little kid. "If you're good at lying, other people are so good, you can't see their lies."
"What's gotten into you?" Lucas wrapped his arms Areum, feeling her soft skin, almost freezing with the cold night breeze. She didn't even complain that she was cold or anything.
That warm touch from Lucas made her calm down for a little bit. He's here, all she needs to do is focus on him. Enjoy this vacation with just the two of them.
"Want some food?" Lucas asked her making Areum excitedly nod her head in joy. Nothing's better than food of course.
Lucas thought her reaction towards food was adorable. For now, no to politic and yes to food. Only food.
They both went to the food court to look for something Chinese. They're just not in the mood to get any Korean food for now.
"Can we just buy potato chips and drink soda or beer?" Areum suggested. "You know, watch Korean drama and be lazy. I mean we're not paying for this. Your cousin's treat right?" she told Lucas making him smile at Areum's crazy idea. She's not really the type to suggest drinking alcohol. Is she going through something?
Areum went to buy chips and Lucas went to buy liquor. Lucas didn't buy expensive liquor. He only bought things that he can make cocktails with. He didn't want Areum to taste something bitter.
They also needed some lime, pineapple and juice to make so he went to the mini grocery to fetch what they needed and look for Areum. It's such a small place, it'll be easy to find her.
