Chapter 44 - Only Truth in a Web of Lies

(Flashback)

First period, Chemistry class. Jessica forgot her homework and just remembered that they have one when the professor asked the to pass it.

"Shit!" She cursed. This specific professor makes his students stand up when they fail to give their homework.

Mei secretly gave Jessica her homework for her to copy. Jessica might be mean to her all the time but she still consider her as her friend just because they always hang out.

The professor stood in front giving everyone a cold look. "Pass your homework. NOW!" he growled making them all obey. Except for Mei and Jessica of course. Jessica was still copying Mei's homework.

He was announcing those who passed their homeworks, Jessica was just about to stand up when she heard her name. That's impossible, there's no way she unconsciously made her homework.

Jessica passed Mei's homework so the professor would also announce her name so she won't need to stand up and face embarrassment.

"I.......I...I" Jessica didn't know what to say.

Lucas gave her a warm hug that caused her to sob once again. It was warm and comforting. It got rid of her axiety and amost got rid of her guilt. "Maybe it's time to live without that self-hate you've been keeping." He said before he pulled away.

"I'm so sorry." Jessica apologized in between sobs for the last time.

Lucas comforted her with words but nothing can take away her guilt for making Mei's life miserable for such a long time. Mei's last memory of her was she's a mean person and she died with that one and only impression of Jessica.

Now she can never change that.

"Yiyang, you too. I'm so sorry for taking my age onto you. I'm so sorry from the start." Jessica now hugged Yiyang.

"That's in the past now." Yiyang responded. One thing she learned from being angry for too long, it was frustrating and hard bearing such a huge burden.

Now Jessica felt more guilty that they forgave her right away.

The four of them right away joined the part once again. They were expecting chaos among the kids with the poor professors trying to discipline them.

But instead, he saw Kai dancing at the center to this famous song titled "Love Shot". He doesn't even care that girls are trying to film him.

He wanted to calm him down when he noticed Sehun doing the same thing on top of the table, leaving the ladies squealing.

"I always knew he's my favorite professor." Areum mumbled leaving both Mr. Wu and Lucas eyeing her. She bit her lips feeling a bit guilty for checking him out. "He's chill, look at him." He gestured at Oh Sehun making the girls thirsty.

Lucas didn't look convinced at her explanation. He even started doubting about Areun's behavior during Sehun's class. She might one of those girls who are trying to catch his attention during lessons.

Another song came that made the students dance along. Lucas then joined everybody on the dance floor to impress Areum. Her eyes were fixed on him with so much doubt. She was expecting Lucas to make a fool out of himself, but she was so wrong.

Lucas danced powerfully and looked attractive while dancing. It was a side of him that Areum never thought she would see.

She joined him when she noticed a few girls checking him out. They probably think that Lucas isn't stupid because he looks like a total lady killer right now with those sharp moves. She just didn't want them to make the biggest mistake of their lives and at the same time, she wanted to claim what's hers.
