Chapter 41 - Done

Joy and Hansol searched the hospital for Daniel but he was impossible to find. Joy even told the guards and staffs because she assumed that they knew how the son of the owner looks like.

Hansol got frustrated and worried, at the same time he didn't know what tell Baekho. He went to the rooftop to smoke when he saw Daniel on the edge, looking down 10 stories high.

"Daniel! What do you think you're doing?" Hansol panicked running towards Daniel, pulling him at the center, away from the edge. "Haven't your parents warned you about standing on the edge of a high building?"

Daniel dusted himself and glanced at panicked Hansol. "Don't worry, I'm just watching the world from up here. It's not like I'm trying to..." he paused then swallowed because he just realized that what he's about to say was not a usual word on a child's vocabulary.

"The world? Why watch the world when you can watch movies on TV?" asks Hansol who eventually calmed down, sitting calmly beside him.

"TV? TV shows are deceiving. Actors and actresses give off a lot of confusing feelings. After observing people around me, there's not really much feelings out there. People are always angry and frustrated. The only person who smiles a lot is my brother, and he only smiles when fixing cars and machines. Maybe a lot of people don't chase what makes them happy. Someday, I'll be like my brother. I'll find something that will make me happy and never let it go." the kid told Hansol. He was witty, that Hansol got inspired of his words.

"I don't want this profession." Hansol muttered, rubbing his temples. "I want to teach children. I want to be the teacher than I never had. A real leader, a real good example and not a person that gets angry over the kid who get's bullied because he's asking for help from being harassed and hurt." he punched the ground in anger. Then Maybe Daniel's right, those who don't follow their happiness are always angry and frustrated.

"Let's get back down okay? Everybody's looking for you." Hansol stood up.

"I doubt that. One time Baekho was on this camp for 3 days. I tried hiding for three days but nobody came to find me. Only Baekho tried to find me." Daniel stood up anyways. "But let's see it." he challenged.

The moment Hansol walked him to Dr. Kang's office, nobody even glanced at them. Not Daniel's mother nor his father.

Baekho barged in after hearing that Daniel has been found. Even Joy hurried to find Dr. Kang's office. Baekho grabbed his brother in a protective way. "You're all that's left, where did you go without me?" he demanded on a worried tone.

"Easy on the kid Baekho. It's not like he drowned or something." Daniel's mother muttered. "Daniel, just always remember, don't play with fire, don't climb a high place, don't play on dangerous places, don't store candies on your closet, don't trespass, don't play with firecrackers, respect the elderly. Smile and be a happy kid and we won't have a problem." his mother finished.

Daniel hissed catching Hansol's attention. He saw the 'I-told-you-so' look in Daniel's smirk. The kid was used to hearing this from his mother or maybe from both of his parents.

It hurts him to see him used to being taken for granted. At this young age, he should feel special and important.

"That's how you plan on raising him?" Baekho muttered. "That's fucking genius, because that's how you fucking raised me, and look where it got us. I'm a fucking asshole who dated your patient." Baekho took Daniel out with Hansol following them.

"This is why I fucking hate you Hansol. You always see all my family problems. Everybody assumed that I was troubled and ungrateful for having doctors as parents. I should be as gifted as them, I should be well mannered and well disciplined for them. But you, you just have to be honest and tell me that my family is fucked." Baekho yelled at Hansol.
