Chapter 40 - Hidden Garden

Lucas came back with Areum's cup of coffee in his hands. She was already laughing with his cousins and telling them funny stories about Lucas.

"That doesn't sound like Lucas. Lucas is depressed." Hedi told Areum who glared at him for contradicting her stories. To show her fury, she stole his chicken, placing it on Lucas' plate, leaving him smiling.

Areum faced Lucas and stared at his smile. There was an eye contact that they both shared that made the two of them blush. Lucas held her hand below the table secretly.

"Is this for me?" he asked pointing at the chicken that Areum stole with his other hand.

"Yours of course." Areum told him.

"You're lucky to have a girlfriend Lucas." Hedi told his cousin who was currently sticking his tongue out on him like a child. "I can see how much she makes you happy. You seem different."

Areum wanted to say that it was Lucas who found happiness by himself before she even came to his life, when she noticed her father sat on the table next to them with his adviser and his family including Minghao.

He's staring at her directly. Areum didn't waste time to raised her hand that's holding Lucas' hand. She wanted to show everybody that they're holding hands. For some reason she wanted her father to see it.

Areum also rested her head on Lucas' shoulders as she giggled. She's having fun flirting around while her father's watching her.

"Areum, what are you doing?" Lucas whispered.

"Play along." she replied on a whisper.

Lucas smiled awkwardly, looking around. He was trying to figure out what Areum was trying to do. Is she trying to look sweet with his cousins around?

Then he saw Areum's father staring at them. His eyes widened in fear but couldn't stop Areum. She couldn't stop smiling at his pissed father just on the table next to them.

Lucas knew what she's trying to do, and Areum was clearly enjoying this. Watching her father get pissed but can't do anything.

"Lucas, Areum told us that you're the mood maker of your group." Hedi told his cousin, distracting him from Areum. "Why is Jackson the mood maker of our family?" he questioned.

"Because I'm the visual of the family." Lucas said, followed by his Justin Bieber impersonation. Hedi and Jackson couldn't help but laugh at his face and his statement.

"You little joker." Jackson laughed at him on a high pitch voice. Nobody would've ever guessed that his laugh was so feminine. "It looks like we found our new family mood maker. Now stop kidding, I'm the family's visual." Jackson added making Hedi and and Lucas laugh this time.

"I think Hedi's the family's visual." Areum muttered, slightly driving Lucas crazy out of jealousy but it didn't stop there. "Jackson is the family's mood maker." she said making Lucas glare at her.

"Lucas is mine." she added, smiling at Lucas who smiled sweetly at her.

"Sure, take him away and make sure he won't come back." Jackson approved.

Areum glanced at Lucas who was making face. He was holding his chest as if he was so hurt by Jackson's words, but his facial expression was exaggerated. Areum almost though he was only joking that she only slapped his shoulders.

"You would want that don't you?" Lucas painfully asked Areum who was still laughing at his howling voice.

She nodded grabbing his hand. "Of course. I'd have you for myself. No family, just mine." she said resting her head on his chest like a clingy girlfriend.
