The class was silently working on an assignment, or shall i say, essay. That was due in two weeks. We write about something that we love best or our interest that we wanted the class to hear about. Mine, of course, was about turtles. And marine life.
Alex, of course, was mumbling and goofing off with three other people. One was a little taller than him, dark skinned, and wore a blue bandana on his head. The other was the same height as alex, a little tan, and had a french accent of what i could hear. Then the last, she was a girl. She wore a yellow, short sleeved shirt, with white shorts.
I kept glancing at them and didn't realize it.
"Ah, my dude johnny." I heard hamilton say. I hid my face deeper in my paper. Ducking a little behind my desk.
My heart raced and he came and moved his desk beside mine making a screeching noice on the ground. I heard numerous groans of annoyance and Alex snapped at them, then they shut up. Except this one dude alex said as 'burr' were at it for a while before Alexander the kind guy he is, gave up.
I peeked up a little to see alex beside me, he wasn't looking at me, matter a-fact he was looking everywhere but me.
I felt his arm move in my direction when he was arguing with the French guy on simple cool stuff. Like Football.
"Dude, I'm telling you. You'd be good at quarterback, your so damn fast man!" He said scooting closer to me in a waving sorta motion.
"Nah mon Ami, your faster then Jefferson and Jefferson is faster then I am!" This 'lafayette' laughed. I looked up at the two. Hercules and Lafayette. They were close to each other talking to alex.
I studied there body types and there broad shoulders. I think Hercules would be good for tackling and guarding. I couldn't help it. I totally lost it.
"Hercules would be good at defense and Lafayette would make a good person to hand the ball to and pass— alex, you'd be good for quarterback as well as Jefferson, maybe arranging ways in how yo—" I gulped realizing I was talking too much. The girl that was sitting beside them popped her gum she was chewing and smiled sweetly at me. She seemed to sense my nervousness.
I could feel there stares on my skin. Aching in embarrassment and stupidity. I wanted to run and tell myself how dumb I was being.
"Well, freckles' I didn't know you knew that much about football." Alexander suddenly said, cutting off my thinking and making me shake a little from how hard I could feel eyes on me.
"Awe, lexi whose this?" The girl politely asked, scooting over to us.
Her perfume smelled so good.
I started messing with my papers edge. A Blushing mess I was in right now.
"Chill peg leg, this is john. I met him thirty- five minutes ago, and I'd appreciate it if you'd guys not bug him, he looks scared to death!" Alexander chuckled patting my back.
"Well hey john, I'm Peggy! You can call me anything. And if you wanna talk more we can." She said
"K..." I mumbled in my binder full of papers.
"He's so shy." Hercules chuckled. Lafayette playfully punched him and came to sit by me also. I don't think I like this sort of attention. Maybe it's because of Alexander sitting beside me or maybe it's because they wanna see how shy I can get or flattered.
"Look John, this place is totally bully free, every one here gets along.. most likely-" Lafayette continued."But if they don't then let us know we'll take good care of it. And as in us I mean, Hercules, Peggy, ZE Thomas, Alexander, myself, and any other friends you may make on the day." As he finished, I felt more comfortable. I lifted my face up and smiled warmly at my paper. Alexander was starring at me and I could see it out the corner of my eye. I didn't wanna think about it much.
