Zendaya was having a party and you, for one, weren't going to miss it for the world.

You two had been friends for a long time, going way back to when Zendaya was starting on Disney.

Knowing her back then and later on connecting again when she was in the Spider-Man movies.

You weren't the closest of friends, but still close enough to hang out with her.

Walking in you recognized a lot of different people.

Some from Disney, some from movies she's done, and some just her normal friends.

It was fairly low-key for a celebrity party.

"(Y/N)!" A smile comes across your face when you hear Zendaya's voice.

"Z!" You call back, turning to see her. She looked beautiful as always.

Her arms wrapped around you, engulfing you in a hug.

"It's so good to see you," she says happily.

"It's good to see you too," you beam back.

You both pull away from the hug smiling.

"Feel free to mingle around, I'm sure you'll find some people to hang out with. Now, if you don't mind me, I need to continue playing hostess," with that she left you there to decide where to go.

You wander around for a bit, finally spotting some of your friends from the Spider-Man movies laughing.

And there he was, laughing as well.

You should've known he was going to be here.

Judging by the way he looked at you when he noticed you said that he hadn't expected you being there either.

His eyes met yours and the smile on his face faltered.

You quickly turned away. Not ready to deal with that situation just yet.

Instead you go to the food area, eying all the treats you were going to devour.

First you grabbed a cup and poured yourself a drink.

"Hey," the British accent makes you freeze.

You take a deep breath and turn around.

You could already feel your heart racing.

He was standing right there!

Looking the same as he did when you left a couple years ago.

And already with a drink of his own.

"Hi," you say softly.

You were unable to meet his gaze.

"You look good," he says, unsure.

"You too," you say back.

Your fingertips tap the sides of the cup in your hands.

"Look, the way that things ended—" he began cautiously.

"Tom," you stop him, "maybe we shouldn't do this here."

His facial expression was conflicted.

"I just want to talk to you," he says truthfully.

You look around at all the other people.

"Then let's go someplace else to talk," you tell him. He nods his head.

"I don't know. It was just that you were always busy filming different movies, and I was still trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. It just felt like we both weren't in the right place for a relationship. You know?"

Tom nodded his head as the both you walked in the large backyard.

Different groups of people were scattered everywhere but you had managed to find a quiet spot.

"I really did want to make time for you, but it seemed like there was always another movie to film," he explained.

You take a sip of your drink.

"It wasn't your fault. It was your dream. You had to follow it," you tried to remove him of any guilt, "I was the one who left when all you needed was someone to cheer you on."

You reached a stone garden table and decided to lean against it.

"I'm sorry I couldn't be that person," your eyes traced the ground then raised up to meet his soft brown ones.

"It's okay," He soothed, "I must admit it did hurt a lot when you left, but I understood your reasoning. I was a terrible boyfriend." You combed your fingers through your hair.

"Well, I was a terrible girlfriend," you add.

A comfortable silence went between the two of you.

Your eyes gazing at each other.

"I guess that's all in the past now," you state.

He sighs and nods his head.

"Yeah," he agrees with you.

A small smile plays at your lips.

You raise up your cup.

"To being friends?" You propose a toast.

"To being the best of friends," he says with a smile, hitting his cup against yours.

You both take a sip from your cups, staring at each other intently over the rims.

Almost simultaneously, you stop drinking.

Tom's hand reaches for yours and takes your cup out of your hand.

He places both on the table behind you.

You wrap your arms around his neck, drawing him close, and place your lips on his.

He doesn't take even a millisecond to kiss back, his hands placed at your waist.

It was a desperate kiss.

It released the sexual tension between the two of you.

He lifts you up so you were sitting on the table.

His hands slide down to your legs.

You pulled away for air, hands on his shoulders.

"Or more than friends could be good," you say in between pants for breath.

"Uh huh," he says, a smirk across his face, "whatever you say, darling."

The heat rises to your cheeks.

Even after all this time the pet name still made you blush.

"Just shut up and kiss me," you choke out.

He instantly places his lips back on yours.

You smile into the kiss along with him.

You both almost laugh at how things turned out.

Surprising but not displeasing.
