We never got to choose our powers.

The burden of being heroes was placed on our shoulders and there was nothing we could do about that except be what the world needed us to be.

Avengers.

I'm one of them.

A new one, but an Avenger nonetheless.

I could restore damaged cells with a slight touch and restore my own instantaneously.

No disease, bullet, or any other potentially life threatening object could harm me as long as I was conscience.

A year ago I revealed to the world that (Y/N) (L/N) and the Invincible Healer were one in the same.

Actually it was during my graduation.

Just a way to shove it to all the jerks that made fun of me at Midtown High.

Flash Thompson looked like he was going to faint when he found out that I, the girl he teased all through high school was the same person as his superhero crush.

It really was a magical moment.

After that I kinda became an international celebrity.

Everywhere I went people would follow, including paparazzi.

Ned and Peter would still hang out with me in public.

Michelle didn't like all the attention so I only saw her in private.

Peter and I have definitely gotten close.

I think it was because we both were similar in the fact that we had powers that made us different from all the others.

Besides that we had nothing in common.

But it didn't stop us from working together.

Tony thought it would be better if we stayed with each other.

Just in case.

Our powers are vastly different.

Peter's are more offensive and mine are more defensive.

But we even each other out.

I can't fight very well so Peter does that part while I shield the victims and heal him when necessary.

I could remember times in school when Peter had gone out without me the night before.

"Seriously I'm fine," Peter says taking stuff out of his locker.

His hand clutching his side subtlety proved his statement false.

"No you're not, you're in pain," I argue.

He shuts the door to his locker and looks at me.

"Just come here," I say.

He sighs while walking over to me.

My back was facing the lockers.

I held onto his wrist and concentrate on healing him.

He starts to fall over, his brain needing rest from the sudden work load placed in front of it.

My other arm wraps around his body, holding him up.

His chin rested on my shoulder.

To anyone else it would just look like we were hugging.

After a couple seconds I slide my hand underneath his shirt going directly to the side that he had been clutching on to.

I felt no broken bones or cut so he must be alright now.

I remove my hand from his wrist.

When his brain was back up and running he lifted his head from my shoulder and looked at me.

"Better?" I ask.

Our closeness must have made him nervous.

His voice faltered.

"Yeah," Peter whispered.

His brown eyes never left mine when he placed his hand over mine under his shirt.

I'm so proud of him. All his hard work, the long nights (and days), has lead up today.

Tony announced Spider-Man as the newest Avenger.

Peter couldn't have been more overjoyed by the news.

A party is being thrown in celebration.

And I had the hard decision of picking out what to wear.

"This one or this one?" I ask Michelle holding up two dresses.

"Every event you ask me and I always say 'you look great in everything.' When are you ever going to listen?" She asks not bothering to look up from her book as she lies on her stomach on her bed.

I had decided to pregame at Michelle's, bringing over practically every dress I owned.

"You're not helping. Just pick one," I command.

I stretch out my arms holding out my top two picks.

Michelle's brown eyes flash up for a second then went back to her book.

"The left one and pair it with the black heels," she finally voices out her opinion.

"Thank you," I say relieved.

When it was time to leave I asked her again if she wanted to come to the party.

"You'll be too busy with your boyfriend," she says playfully with a smirk.

Michelle was convinced that Spider-Man and I were a thing.

I just rolled my eyes at her.

"Say 'hi' to Peter for me," she says.

"What?" I ask shocked.

"He's going right? To the party?" I nodded my head quickly.

"Yeah, he is." Sometimes it was hard to keep the secret from Michelle.

As observant as she is we all need to be careful.
