"She still doesn't want to come home." Hyojung groaned as her silver fork toyed with the roasted meat on her dinner plate. The woman looked wistfully at her boyfriend across the table.
Although Jaebum wasn't the most expressive man, he tried his best to match his girlfriend's concern.
"Hyojung, maybe it's best you let her calm down first."
Hyojung's fork clattered on the plate as she dropped it. "Jaebum, she's been gone for almost half a year. And it's not getting better. Just a few weeks ago, she asked for us to stop giving her money!"
"She even wanted to start working on her own! That's a sign that she doesn't want to come back any time soon!"
It was rare that Hyojung cried in front of other people. But with the stress and guilt all building up in her heart for the past months, it was hard for her to keep the tears from flowing.
Instantly, Jaebum went to Hyojung's side, and wrapped his strong arms around her small frame to console her. Bringing her hands that covered her face down, he spoke gently as his fingertips wiped away her tears.
"Listen it's going to take some time, but it'll all be okay. She hasn't been doing anything bad, she's still responsible and doing well on her own.
"Remember, she even let you pick her job, and Nayeon is watching over her there at the café. Plus, you said you got Mark to take care of her at school too, right?"
In between her sniffles, Hyojung nodded her head softly at the man's words.
"It's all going to be fine." Jaebum cradled Hyojung's face in his hands as he gazed comfortingly into her eyes.
She leaned into his touch as yet another tear slipped down her cheek.
"Thank you so much Jaebum. I really don't know what I would do without you."

Hyojung "Hey Mark, I know it's late but I was wondering if you're still awake."
