"Binnie, I'm ho— back..." Hyojung shook her head with a sigh as she locked the door. Even though it had been weeks since she started living in Yoobin's apartment, she still didn't feel quite at home with the place.
She abandoned her shoes by the door and trekked barefoot into the living room, before reeling backwards at the sight of the man she'd been avoiding all these weeks sitting right on the couch.
"Jaebum?"
Hearing his name, Jaebum immediately turned. His gaze softened immediately as his eyes trailed over her face. All he could think was how glad he was that she was doing alright. He heard about her collapse from Yoobin and was immensely concerned.
Jaebum took a deep gulp and ran a hand over his gelled hair in anxiety. He smiled gently before reaching behind his back to retrieve a beautiful bouquet. He stood up and handed the fragrant batch over.
In a state of utter confusion, Hyojung accepted the flowers. She looked down to see a grove of baby blue hyacinths, with the angelic contrast of white tulips sprinkled throughout. Gawking, she struggled to find the first question to ask because there were so many running through her mind.
How did he even get in here?
What is he doing here?
Did Binnie let him in? There's no way—
Wait. Where is Binnie?
With the bouquet in her arms, Hyojung spun around with growing wrinkles on her forehead, only for her younger sister to call out by the front door.
"So, I'll catch you guys later?"
"Binnie?" Hyojung stretched out her sister's name as if to say, 'Help me!'
Yoobin sighed and glanced towards Jaebum. "You two need to talk. Bye!"
Hyojung stood frozen as she watch Yoobin turn the doorknob without an ounce of hesitation, leaving her in a very awkward situation.
"Why don't we sit down?" Jaebum awkwardly asked, palms sweating.
Hyojung nodded along nervously following him to the small dining table. Jaebum uncharacteristically pulled out a chair for her, and she couldn't help but be reminded of when they first started dating.
