"Hey Mom and Dad! How's it going up there?" With her eyes tightly closed, Hyojung whispered softly to the two tall slabs of grey tombstones.
She sighed deeply as if gaining ahold of her thoughts. Jaebum's hand slowly held Hyojung's in a gentle, warm grasp, and she smiled at his encouragement.
"Well, it's a bit too late now, but we wanted to tell you something.
"We're getting married.
"And yes, I know it may seem like we're rushing into it, but then we realized what was the point of waiting when we were already decided? These past few years have been anything but perfect, but thank you for watching over Jaebum and I, as well as Binnie— whom might I add I will take care of even when she's away at university."
Hyojung's eyes blinked open to take a mischievous glance at her little sister. She grinned giving, the younger a nudge, saying, "Your turn."
Purposely overreacting, Yoobin fell to the ground clumsily. "Wow, see that Mom and Dad!? I'm being bullied!"
"Shut up!" Hyojung laughed, pulling Yoobin up to her feet.
Yoobin giggled cheerily, patting off the dirt that managed to get on her clothes in her bout of bad acting.
"Just kidding! Anyways, we're doing really great down here, especially since we're getting a new addition to the family! Maybe you'll even get a grandkid soon~"
"BINNIE!" A furiously blushing Hyojung shoved Yoobin, dropping the playful act.
"I'm joking! But so yeah, please continue to watch over us and— oh wait! I forgot my flowers in the car!"
"I'll go get them with you," Hyojung said, taking the car keys out of her purse.
The sisters began walking down the path through the graveyard, leaving Jaebum alone to gaze at the graves.
He chuckled hearing his fiancé scold his soon to be sister-in-law. "Stop talking about babies in front of Jaebum!"
Taking in a deep breath and holding the air in his cheeks, Jaebum observed the writing on the tombs. He marveled at the fact that Hyojung was able to stand on her own two feet at such a young age without her parents. And realizing this, he couldn't be filled with more pride and admiration for his wife-to-be.
