"Ditching class for half the day, jumping over the school wall, not answering any phone calls..." Vice Principal Park Jinyoung listed off as he paced around his office, the heels of his leather dress shoes beating against the floor like loud claps of thunder. "Do you two have anything you want to say for yourselves!"

BamBam and Yoobin could do nothing but stare down at their trembling feet in a mix of anxiety and shame. Feeling the heavy tension, BamBam tilted his head towards Yoobin ever so slightly for a source of comfort. As if she had the same thoughts, they found themselves smiling as they engaged in an eye-only conversation.

'We're so screwed,' Yoobin gestured with her eyes.

'But at least we're screwed together,' BamBam's eyes smiled and Yoobin rolled her eyes playfully.

"IS THIS FUNNY TO YOU!?" Mr. Park pounded his fist on his desk, while Mark who was standing at the side of the room smothered his exasperated face with a frustrated hand.

"You two had so many people worried for you. Your friends had no idea where you'd gone. BamBam, your older sister was terrified, and Yoobin, even your boss, Miss Im, was frantic when she couldn't reach you."

A flash of guilt shot through Yoobin's heart at the thought of Nayeon. She hadn't meant to cause trouble, she just wanted a break. Instantly, Yoobin straightened her expression with a much more solemn attitude.

"I'm so sorry Mr. Park. It was a bad decision entirely on my part, and I should have never skipped school," Yoobin apologized sincerely.

"—Wait!" BamBam cut in, glancing at Yoobin in concern. "It wasn't Yoobin's fault. I was the one who said we should sneak out of school."

"But it was my decision to go with you!"

"Even so, I was the one came up with the idea. You wouldn't have even been able to ditch if I wasn't there!"

Mark and Jinyoung both watched the "quarreling" students in amusement. While the two kids were too busy arguing, Jinyoung sent his friend a nod of approval, and Mark's teeth popped out of a knowing grin.

"Enough!" Jinyoung's dominating voice broke the noise. "Luckily, for you two my father is at another school today for a meeting. Otherwise, he might not have been so understanding."

Yoobin thought of Principal Park in confusion. Wasn't he just a kind old man who always smiled at the students?

"Because of your previously good behavior, I will allow you two off with just helping around the office after school. But know that you're both on shaking ground. Yoobin!"
