Mitch Wilson | 11:41pm | Forest

I was running, running because my life is depending on it. I could see Heidi in front of me speeding ahead.

Perks of being a track star.

I wanted to look back, I could hear the heavy breathing and shrieks trailing behind us.

What the hell was following us?

I jump over a small creek and continue to run as my shoes land on muddy pathway. "MITCH! HEAD TO YOUR RIGHT!" I could hear Heidi shout at me as I start to swerve my turn.

"WHERE WE GOING?" I scream back.

"I CAN SEE A LIGHTHOUSE UP AHEAD!" Heidi informs me as she pushes away bushes, "I REMEMBER CHRIS MENTIONING THAT THERE WAS A LIGHTHOUSE WHICH HAD A SERVICE RADIO!"

Fuck yes!

I take a quick peak of what was following us and I couldn't see much, but I could hear shrieks that we're terrifyingly getting louder.

We're so fucked if there isn't a lighthouse...

I push away buses in front of me, as well as branches, while trying to keep up with Heidi. However, Heidi stops me as I almost peer off the edge of a cliff.

"Oh shit," I quietly mutter out.

"LOOK! I can see the lighthouse!" Heidi points out as I see the lighthouse in the distance.

There was a rope attached to the pillar in front of us and it led straight to the lighthouse, "There's a harness here, one of the tourist attraction to ride across," I state. I turn back and the shrieking were still getting louder.

"Put on the harness!" I command as both of ran to the black belts and start putting it on.

"This better work and not kill us," Heidi worryingly states.

I attach the clip on my harness and place it onto another clip. I turn back and I could see shadows slowly getting bigger and they're coming straight towards us.

"Heidi! You're going to have to ride with me!" I explain, "There isn't any time!"

Heidi looks at me as if I ruined her day.

"You're fucking joking right? The weight is going to snap the rope and drop us into the fucking ocean."

I could see a long-legged, almost human-like creature now in view. I clip a rope onto her clip and I grab her arm I jump.

"MOTHERFUCKER!" Heidi screams as we ride across the rope, the rope slowly moving us down, but still stable to hold us both.

We finally make it to the other side, but we didn't stick the landing and both of us crash onto the ground, snapping the rope.

"Well that's done for," I state in relief.

I look around the area, there was a massive lighthouse in front of us and the building was surrounded by the ocean.

I could suddenly hear shrieks again coming from below the cliff. I take a quick look and I can see the same creature climb the cliff with others.

"GET IN!" I scream to Heidi who was already making her way through the front door.

Both of us ran to the top floor, where the beacon was. We look around for a radio, but there were none to be seen. Suddenly the light shot right on, blinding me as it was shooting my difference.

"Holy shit it's hot!" I utter as I move away from the light. I look at where the light was shining too and there was a ship of some kind floating across the ocean.

"Heidi look! There's a boat!" I tell her as both of shout to catch their attention, but they were slowly floating away. I look around the top floor and I could see a red box, and so I opened it and inside was a flare gun.

I was about to shoot it in the air, but the ship suddenly explodes.

"What the fuck?!" Heidi shouts.

The speaker in the lighthouse suddenly goes static.

Someone help me! I could hear a voice exclaim as I look over to Heidi who notices it as well. Something is after me! I need-

The voice cuts off, I could recognise the voice but it was too static to make out. "I think that was Lacie? Maybe Sophia?" Heidi guesses, "I could barely understand what they were-"

Heidi gets cut off as another explosions explodes somewhere downstairs.

Fucking hell, gives us a break!

The building starts tilting to its side.

"Grab onto something!"

But the building was already falling, falling very fast.
