Chapter 5 (I). Not Dead, Yet

Hannah Meyers | 30 minutes before | Underground Nest

I woke up. Staring at darkness, I try to move but I was inclosed in something. I had a knife behind my back and make a grab for it, afterwards I cut open and I fall out with white goo coming out with me.

Aw, gross.

I try to remember how I got here, but I couldn't remember anything, but chasing Jordy and getting attacked. I look around, but I could barely see anything and so I took out my mini key-ring flashlight and lit up the room.

There was another one of those slimy things next to the one I got out of and I realise maybe there was someone inside. I got my knife and I tore open the slimy thing and inside was Abby.

"Abby!" I whisper as I move her shoulder to try to wake her up,"wake up!"

Abby eyes open as she punches me in the face and I groan in pain as I fall to the floor. "Holy shit! Where am I?" Abby questions as sits up.

"Why am I this?" Abby starts gagging as she jumps out and wipes herself.

"Wait Hannah, you're fucking one of them? The cloak kidnappers!?"

I stood up, touching my jaw from where she punch me, "Wayde, Mia and I were just doing a prank, like Jesus, calm down," I sarcastically say.

"Wow, and when did you act high and mighty," Abby laughs.

I sigh, "Look, last thing I remember was-"

I heard something behind me as I point my flashlight at it and I could see an arm extend out of the slimy thing as I help cut the thing open.

"Fucking hell! I can finally breathe," Layla gasps for air as she steps out of the slime.

"Wait? How did I get here?" Abby runs towards Layla, "Wow, ok."

"I thought you died on the boat!" Abby hugs Layla even tighter.

"What boat? Last thing I remember was-" Layla pauses for a moment, "getting attacked by something and not being able to move and now here."

"Wait, then who was with us-"

Something interrupts me as I turn my flashlight behind me and I could see Jordy limping with a cut wound on his hip. "Jordy!" Jordy collapses and I help apply pressure on the wound.

"Fuck, take my jacket and tie it around his waist," Layla suggests as she hands me the jacket.

"What happened Jordy!?" I ask as he coughs multiple times.

"The last thing I remember was getting attacked and now I'm here," Jordy mumbles.

"Same here," I state.

"Wait so we all got attacked? Couldn't move and then suddenly woke up here?" Abby questions.

"Wait you guys don't know? There's these fucking hideous creatures that-"

Something goes through Layla's stomach as we watch her fall to her knees and the thing gets pulled out of her.

I grab Jordy's arm and all three of us start running.

I threw my flashlight to Abby and tell her to guide us out of here as she nods her head and runs ahead.

"Left!" Abby screams as I follow her.

We realise the wooden pillars around and I make out that we were in a mineshaft section. "Wait! Get in the cart I tell Abby as I help Jordy get in the cart as well."

I look behind and I could see the creature on its fours and sprinting about 3 metres behind me. I pull the lever and I run to the cart and hop in.

The cart rides downhill and it smashes through wooden planks as we bob our head down. The cart was now moving upwards from the speed it got and I could see light coming ahead from the distance as Abby and I laugh and high five each other.

"Oh fuck," Jordy states as we turn and realise that the hole led to a huge hole.

All three of us scream as we were falling, Jordy and I fell in one hole and Abby fell in another, I could see the thing somehow still behind us, but it went into Abby's hole.

"ABBY!" I scream as Jordy and I roll down the hole and land headfirst onto the ground.

I got off the ground and I realise I was in some kind of office. However I could hear movement coming from outside the door, "Hide Jordy!" I look around for a weapon and I find a shovel as the door opens and I wait behind the door and I take a swing.
