"Deep breathes! Deep breathes!" Keefe paced his room nervously. He was going to ask Sophie today. "I needed to play it cool...If she says no...whatever, its going to be fine!" ,he tried to calm himself.
Sophie had been going through a lot lately. First her mind breaking (even though that was my own fault), then the ogres kidnapping her, and now being responsible for protecting the elves' most powerful stone. Keefe wanted to do something nice for her to take the stress away. She hasn't had this much to think or worry about since the Neverseen war. Keefe slightly winced, remembering all the pain he and his friends went through at that time. Many elves were lost, and Keefe even knew a few of them. Running his hands through his hair, he groaned in frustration.
Looking at the clock, he realized that he was 15 minutes late to school. This caused him to tear through his room, trying to find all of his belongings. After all the events that happened, school was the last thing on his mind, but Sophie was likely to be there, so he had decided to go. Stepping into the light, he rushed to Foxfire.
***
Once he was inside of the long empty hallways of Foxfire, he slowed his pace. Keefe never really had enjoyed his classes. He had skipped many over the course of his life. Most of his teachers had gotten used to it, and wouldn't bother showing up half the time.
He was about to walk into his next class, when he saw an all too familiar blonde haired elf dash through the hallways. And she was coming right at him...
(Sophie's POV)
Why! Why did Grady and Edaline have to go out that day?! And where in the world were all the elf alarm clocks?! I just had to wake up late after not being able to sleep well all last night. Sandor had gone on an "outing" with Grizel, so he wouldn't have woken he up. I had quickly gotten dressed, and was sure she put on her shirt backwards. I was now running completely late for the best class in history to be late for...inflicting. Great.
Cursing under my breath, I willed my legs to go faster even though all my energy was spent. I was not a morning person. I guess I wasn't really aware how fast I was going anymore, my vision blurred, and body wanting to sleep.
All of a sudden, I ran straight into something, or someone. I fell right on my butt. "Owww!" Yep, definitely a person. "Jeez Foster, you have a pretty hard head." The person joked. I finally rubbed my eyes, and looked up. "Hey ya Foster. I knew you would want to skip classes with me!" I rolled my eyes. I knew mornings were evil.
