(Sophie's POV)

I laid in bed, dreading the rest of the day. Alden went to inform the councill of their new "discovery". I didn't want to think about what would happen now. Not wanting to be disturbed, I had locked myself in my room all day. I groaned loudly and reached up to pick out a loose eyelash. I haven't done it in a while, ever since the last Neverseen war.

"Knock knock!" "come in Keefe." I plainly said to the door. "Keefe walked in, holding his hands to his heart in mock hurt. "No hello Keefe? You have amazing hair?" That got a smile out of me. "I know that you aren't taking this very well. It doesn't take an empath to understand that." he said seriously, looking me directly in the eyes. He sat down on the bed next to me, and just on reaction, I reached over to hug him. Tears wouldn't stay in my eyes. "Its just so much to take in. Just when I thought everything could be fine, the world comes crashing back down." Keefe sadly at the wall.

"Sophie, I can't guarantee complete safety and that everything will go perfectly, but just know that all of your friends are here for you. Including me. You can't just push us away and think that you have to do everything yourself. That is one thing I can promise."

I realized that he had used my first name. I figured out that when he did that, it usually meant he was serious. I looked at him. He smiled at me. A real smile. My heart fluttered. If Keefe noticed, then he didn't let me know it. "Thank you so much Keefe. For everything." I wiped away my tears. "Now come on! Alden wanted to talk to you."

We walked down, and told Edaline that I was going to Everglen. Grady was out tending to the animals. "Okay! have fun!" I nodded. Soon me and Keefe stepped into the light.

You think you would get used to Everglen after a few years of going there almost everyday. But I was always stunned by their big glowing gates, and the size of their house. I transmitted to Fitz.(Sophie is italics, Fitz is bold.)

Hey Fitz? Can you open the gates?

Sure!

Soon Fitz stepped out of the house, walking over to us. However, when he did, a bucket a ice cold water fell on me. Keefe was in hysterics, and Fitz seemed like he was trying not to smile. "KEEFE! I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!" I chased him around for about an hour, then used my telekinesis to levitate him...then drop him. Hard. "okay okay! I surrender." I rolled my eyes as we continued to walk to Fitz house.

I'm so sorry for the late update. I had a minor writer's block. Thank you so much for the support! <3
