Rejection ~ Colby Brock

This is something that happened to me. Except when I found out why he said no it didn't effect me because I no longer liked ik since he kept ignoring me mad just didn't talk to me. It was my first heartbreak, but I know it won't be my last.

You have always had a crush on Colby. It was a new quarter of school so that meant new seats in Math. You never changed your seat since you're comfortable because you were a shy person around people. You walked to class with Y/BFF/N and her boyfriend, Ryan, you guys were given seats. Lucky for you, Y/BFF/N sat next to you with Ryan next to her. You guys sat at a table so one more person could sit with you guys. You looked around the table and didn't see Colby sitting anywhere. It caught your attention that the last seat open was the one next to you.
"So Y/N, looks like I'm sitting with you guys" a voice says. You look up and see Colby.
He knew your name.
You blushed and looked down.
"Cool.." you weren't really comfortable talking to him. You admired him from afar. You never had the balls to say hi to him, let alone ask him out.
He just gives an awkward smile as the teacher starts taking role.

Couples weeks go by and you have gotten out of your shell with Colby.  You guys talk all the time. It was time for you to go to 7th period math and you were walking towards class. Y/BFF/N wasn't here today and Ryan was at the clinic because he hurt his hand playing basketball in gym. Which left you alone with Colby.
"Hey Y/N! Wait!" A voice yelled.
You turn around seeing Colby causing you to stop walking and smile at him.
"Hey Colbs"
"Hey Y/N/N"
You guys walk to class talking about what you guys did over the weekend.
You guys go and sit down and get out your stuff for class.
"My brother broke his foot on Saturday"
"What?"
"Yeah. He broke his foot. He was jumping in the trampoline and did a flip but bounced off and landed on his foot wrong. It looked painful and funny at the same time" he laughed.
You couldn't help but fall for him more seeing him smile. You smile back as the teach walks into the class.

It was a new quarter which meant year again new seats. You still sat in the same seat not wanting to move. Y/BFF/N didn't move but Ryan did since he gets into trouble talking to Y/BFF/N all the time. And Colby was given a different seat. This made you frown in sadness, but it was needed since school was almost over and exams were coming up. After class you walked out talking to Y/BFF/N about movie night tomorrow. You wanted to invite Colby and so you did. Yo I saw him passing you and knew it was a good time to.
"Hey Colby" you called out. He looks at you and smiles.
"Hey Y/N, What you need?"
You breathed in and out slowly calming yourself. You were far to nervous.
Nothing came out. Nothing. He just stood there.
"I'm sorry. I just wanted to know if you had Mr.Stone's science homework for tomorrow. I never got it." You say hating yourself. He nods and gives it to you than left you.
Y/BFF/N looks at you.
"Wow" she says shaking her head.
"What?" You say walking down the hall.
"You had a perfect chance to ask him out. Why didn't you?" She alas you opening the door.
"Because. I froze. I didn't know hats to say. And besides, what would I have said if he said no."
You made it to the car and tried to open it but it was still locked.
"Open the door Y/BFF/N"
She shook her head.
"You need to tell him you like him. He has to like you. "
You roll your eyes and open the door getting in.

It was now the next Monday that you talked to Y/BFF/N about Colby. You were talking at lunch and Ryan said that you guys should play truth or dare. It got to you and it was your turn.
"Dare"
Y/BFF/N smile and squeals in excitement.
"I have the perfect one"
She whispers something to Ryan. He nods and smirks looking at you.
"I dare you to ask out Colby"
You shook your head.
"no way. I'm not asking him out." You say protesting.
"If you don't. Than I will. For you. " Y/BFF/N says smiling the biggest smile.
"Ok. Fine. I don't care. Ask him." You say giving up. The bell rang telling you to go to your next class.

You were walking with Ryan.
"Can't believe you did that to me." You say
"I know. And I'm sorry. But if I didn't than I would be faced with consequences from her. And I have to listen to her since I love her." He says
You smile at how loyal it is. You guys turn the corner to the hall way to math class when you see
Y/BFF/N talking to Colby. Your heart stopped. She was actually asking him. You look at Ryan. He was just as shocked as you were. You noticed her face changed form smiling and she nodded as he walked into the class.
"He said no" she says walking up to you. That was enough for you to start crying. The bell rang but you didn't care you ran into the bathroom and went into the big stall and locked it. You stood in front of the mirror and cried.
He stole smiles from you.
He stole laughs from you.
He stole your happiness.
He stole a friendship with you.
He stole everything.

It has been months since you and Colby talked. He just stopped talking to you. You were heartbroken about it but you didn't let it effect you. You would catch him looking at you. And in between classes you would pass each other in the hall. You would look at each other which caused him to look away and you to look down at your feet. Stolen stares were all you had of him.
It was a Friday before Winter Break and you were talking to
Y/BFF/N about your 2 year anniversary with Ryan.
"That reminds me. I was talking to Colby and..."
"And?" You said hoping she was going to say some good news like that he likes you or that he just can't date anyone because of his parents.
"the reason he said no was because he was already dating someone." She says sitting down at a picnic table for lunch.
"What?" You say shifting in our sets heartbroken even more.
"Yeah. He's dating this girl named Jordan."
You scoff at her name.
"Jordan Turner" You say saying her name in pure disgust.
Y/BFF/N nods. You sat there thinking about your times with Colby. How he was there for you when your dog died. How he made it his goal to make you smile for all that month. How he bought you something for your birthday. You always thought he liked you but not as a friend. Bryan sat next to Y/BFF/N and started talking to her. You looked off into the distance seeing Colby walking with Jordan, laughing and talking, you stared wishing it was you laughing and talking with him.
