Beauty in Honesty

A week after spending time with Octavian at Light City, Veronica planned to meet up with him once more. For two reasons,  to dive further into the knowledge of Octavian,  and find out how he visions her. Octavian on the other hand was unaware of both of her intentions. All he knew is that he wanted to see her.  He became an empty book because even the thought of Veronica sent an attractive fear down his spine. He wanted to treasure her as much as possible. It was on a Friday,  the two met up again. Veronica calm all over, Octavian in an excited fear. It only took a minute for Veronica to start. She asked away in curiosity for Octavian's memory. "Do you remember my favorite color?" She asks.  "Blue. For it's calamity" he replies with the greatest of ease. "And I know that you never want to be unstable in any stage. You are very well passionate about the well-being of others along with yourself. You love kids, and take strong feeling toward your education. Finally, I can sense your belief in God is as real as your own heartbeat. You are a heaven sent. She sat back in her chair and was absolutely speechless for two minutes.  Octavian stared at her with a blank mind. Never looking anywhere else, he remained silent. Veronica is in total disbelief of how he remembers not just everything, but mainly the essentials. At first, she didn't know what she was going to do, but then she remembered what Denise told her. Which lead her to saying this: I know you  remembered everything because you care about me, but I feel as though it's not the same way I may care for you. I would like to be your friend, and I would like to know you better." This lead Octavian to a 45 second silence. His primary mission of wanting a direct intimate relationship failed. But the feelings did not die within him. Even after the news he received. So he concealed them from her. And he still cared for Veronica in another sense. The way she wanted it to be, as a friend. Finally, Octavian spoke: "I understand your concern. Though my true intentions did not come to light as plan, I still do want our friendship to grow. If I don't accomplish another step, at least I can be happy saying I accomplished the most important one. And that's having you come into my life. I respect your wishes." After the talk was finished, they hugged each other, but it was a different sense being felt this time compared to the last hug. As he walked away,  Octavian looked up to the sky, smiled, and shed a tear. He said quietly: How much longer? He walked away with his head hanging slightly low with a moderate but tested self-esteem. He puts his mission of making Veronica his girlfriend on hold. His new objective was to fully observe Veronica, and change how their bond flow.
