Transformation from like to love is absolutely magical. Yet not everyone can see it. Veronica and Octavian did not fall under that list. They traveled together, partied together, prayed, mediate, and wrote more together. "I'm thanking God for this woman" Octavian said to himself. He showed Veronica off to his friends. Even bragged about her to her own friends. "Lord, what a time to be alive", Veronica whispered to herself. 4 months later, in the month of August, they shared their first kiss. They both just so happened to dream of it occurring the day before. The kiss itself was slow, gentle, and full of peace. Veronica felt a spot in her heart burn. Not from pain, but pleasure. It was her misery and loneliness dying. Octavian's mind became free of worry and longing. It expanded out to the universe, where he could see Veronica's face beyond the stars. Meaning she was the most important piece that completed him, and truthfully wanted nothing else. He had it all because he was living his dream of an equal love. Octavian's next birthday in 2023, Veronica gave him the gift of her company damn near permanently. She moved in with him. Their arguments were as short as two minutes, and lasted for no longer than 2 days. But by the time 2028 came, they've encountered 2 breakups, a potential eviction, and war with family over acceptance. Octavian speaks on the experience with Veronica to Olive.
"I could never be done with her. She's the first woman I've surrendered to, and she'll be the last. I don't give a damn what happens, I belong to her, and I love her. This blessing is mines, and I won't ever let another man grab hold of it."
"You talking like that, you need to marry her" Olive replied with small laughter. "I will. I'm almost there" Octavian said with ease. Veronica also spoke with her friend Denise. She told her this:
"After all the pain we've been through, I don't need no one else. I've experienced the fear of breaking up, and I was able to repair it with Octavian. Now all we can do is live." "Girl stop playing. Y'all better get married" said Denise with sass. "That's the next step huh?" Veronica asks. Denise nodded her head yes. As the two were planning to play for keeps, there were two more threats heading their way. But for now, they were fully aligned.
