Octavian couldn't open his eyes for two days, but he could speak a little bit. In a faint voice, his first sign of speaking was calling out Veronica. And yes, the doctors told her about the progress. "He need to leave somebody the fuck alone,  but I do love him" Veronica said to herself. She came to see him before he opened his eyes. She held his hand, and he held her hand tight instantly knowing its her. "Hey babe" Octavian said romantically.  Veronica tried to switch her voice to sound like a man and said: "I'm not your baby, but I want that ass  boy." "What? Uh-uh, get the fuck up outta here. NURSE!!!" Octavian said without second guessing it. "Baby, chill I was just playing, it's me. For real" Veronica said laughing. Octavian smiled and replied with: "You play too damn much." "But you don't play enough" Veronica said playfully. They shared a kiss. Then she asked him: "Are you going to be okay?" Octavian confidently answers with: "Best believe I will. Because I'm still here. Too stubborn like you to stay dead. Besides, I can still live with the gift God gave me." "I'm not stubborn" Veronica said defensively. "Now you know that's a lie" Octavian says without regret. "Mhm, and how you think you know?" Veronica asked as if she's testing him to hear what he'd say. Octavian answered calmly: Because I know you. I live with you. I made you feel emotions that you never knew that were there." "So you trying to make it seem like you changed me?" Veronica asks angrily.  Remaining calm, Octavian spoke. "For the better, yes I have. But at the same time I'm not going to act like you haven't changed me. Because you did,  and I'm proud to live with that, and the woman who made that possible." "You're too damn romantic"Veronica says with a little surrender in her voice. "Sorry babe, can't help it" Octavian answers with a smile. "I love you" Octavian whispers to Veronica. She whispered: "I love you too" in his ear. Octavian's recovery was like a pigeon finding its way home after being lost. His instincts had to return. He'd have to learn how to walk regularly again. His eyes opened. Veronica had to teach him how to meditate without him hurting his head. She did his hair, which Octavian never cared for but appreciated her anyway for doing it. The other women constantly prayed for Octavian's effective healing and return. Meanwhile, Ty and Doug gathered three of their friends to search for the men who assaulted Octavian. Fortunately, the cops got to the fugitives first, arrested them, and had a witness against them. A man who recorded it, and backed up Octavian when the men were tried in court for assault in the first degree and attempted murder. They were found guilty and each sentenced to 50 years in prison without parole. But for Octavian, he was writing again. Walking. Meditating. Praying. All in two weeks of physical therapy. But as Octavian was near done recovering, two things came across his mind. Now light was in the future. And more was bound to come.
