The preparation of a child can be a great process. It also can be a stressful one too. Veronica and Octavian slowly prepared for their child's arrival. They bought cribs, a stroller, pampers, Similac, a pacifier, and a queen size bed so when they laid down, they wouldn't get back up from it. As soon as they hit the bed, they'd wish to fall asleep. Their friends lend them a hand as well. They helped them in terms of income and calamity. Because though Octavian and Veronica were beyond grateful for this, deep down inside the pregnancy was driving them both insane. It made Octavian paranoid. Every 15 minutes he heard Veronica, he'd move fast to her asking worried and fast: "Is it here? Ready to go? Is it coming? Is it coming?" Then Veronica had to tell him: "No! What the hell is wrong with you?!?" And Octavian would walk away calmly and returned to what he was doing. Veronica grew to be more grumpy throughout the process. One morning she woke up and was in pain. "Oww. You giving me a hard way to go" she spoke to her belly holding her child. Octavian then walked to her from the bathroom. "No it's not coming so don't even ask" Veronica said in hopes of halting him. "I wasn't going to ask you that. I was going to ask you is there anyway I can comfort you right now?" Octavian asked her calmly. Veronica gave him the side eye and then raged on and told him: "Why would you ask something so stupid? As you can see, I'm carrying a damn child. You know what? Just get out my face." "Okay" Octavian replied and walked out of the bedroom. He's taken more rants from her than just that one. Some were way worse. The worse one she told him was: "I was wrong for wanting a child with you. Because you're not doing enough." Octavian knew was a damn lie because not only he was giving a million percent, but he never let Veronica out of his sight the entire time she was pregnant. For the most part, he'd listen then ignore her. Month nine arrived. The two had everything they felt they needed for the baby's arrival. They found out it was a girl. So they debated on girl names, until Octavian got the name right on the nose. But he'd tell Veronica on the day of her having the baby. "Baby, I think it's time. My water broke!" Veronica yelled. "Let's go" Octavian said calm as ever carefully escorting Veronica to the car. "How could you be so calm at a time like this?!?" Veronica asked him fearfully and angrily. Octavian then looked at her, then drove off to the hospital. He just so happens to get there 5 minutes before the child came out. He went into the room with Veronica, and she began pushing. Veronica screaming from the top of her lungs. Octavian was doing the same because she was crushing the hell out of his hand. When Veronica gave out the final push, out she came. The doctor then lifted the baby up to her chest and then gave it to Veronica. Octavian then collapsed on the floor. The other doctors took him to the room next to the current one they were in. They bandaged his hand, and placed him on the hospital bed. Veronica showed  nothing but smiles as she focused her eyes only for her newborn daughter. But she didn't have a name for her, so she wanted Octavian to name it. So the next day, she was placed in a wheelchair, and was taken to Octavian's room with the baby in her arms. "Hey babe, here she is" Veronica shows him the child nicely wrapped in a small hospital blanket. The doctor pushed her wheelchair to the side of Octavian's bed where she handed him the newborn. Octavian's face was a partial frown. But as he looked down to see the child's face, he smirked. But as he looked up, his partial frown returned and he looked at Veronica and said very calmly with the anger in his voice being very noticeable: Her name is Dawn. Now get the hell out." The doctor looks at Octavian with shock then looks at Veronica. "What's the matter?" Veronica asks. "I'm mad at you. Don't say another word to me. I'll talk to you when I'm ready. Now get the hell out" Octavian said while looking away still holding the child in his arms. And the doctor escorted Veronica out of the room. "I don't know why he's mad at me" she told the doctor. The doctor then asked her: "Well how have you been treating him?" Veronica then remembers and looks down and away in guilt. "Real bad" she told the doctor. "See? That's why. He didn't let it go." "Well he should" Veronica told the doctor rolling her eyes. "Listen to yourself. You've treated this man like shit for 9 months, and now the child came in you think it's smooth sailing between you two? Hell no it's not. And then you didn't even apologize did you?" The doctor said to Veronica. "Well no, but he's a man,  and needs to let go" Veronica answers the doctor. "That may be true that he's a man, but he's only human. And he got feelings the same way you do" the doctor tells Veronica. "But I didn't mean to treat him bad" Veronica says to the doctor with the guilt returning to her. "How is he's supposed to know that? All he knows is that you did it" the doctor tries to reason with Veronica. "I think it's best that I leave him to himself for a little bit" Veronica said. "Though it's none of my business, I think that's best to do right now. He'll come through" the doctor tells Veronica as they help her onto her bed. Octavian, hearing the entire conversation, laughed hard but quietly for around two minutes. He then continues to observe Dawn as he holds her. "Hi. It's so good to see you. It's me. You're so pretty" Octavian says to Dawn, who was still sleep. As Veronica laid in her bed and heard Octavian with Dawn, she smiled. For Dawn's birth, and her new found acquaintance with her father, Octavian. Which rested her mind assure that things between herself and Octavian will be alright. A few hours later,  Octavian came to Veronica's room to apologize, and they made up. Now it's somewhat peaches and cream between the two. Along with the Break of Dawn.
