8.torturing the valedekion

The three of us are setting on the couch. Bucky to my right and Steve on my left.

I can't stop staring at my hands.

"Y/n, so you've never done that before" asked Steve

"Well kinda but I'm pretty sure what its is from this time, but no it's never happened before outside of captivity before"
"Fear probably activated them"

"This time?"

"Wait captivity?"

"Yeah" I sigh.

"Wait, if fear activated your powers then why didn't they activate when you saw me for the first time in the tower?" asks Buck

"Buck for one i am afraid of you yes but not that much. and you never threatened or came near me."
"So I never really had a reason to be that scared or frightened"

"So y/n" Steve says

"Captivity?"

You said you know where they came from?"

"Yeah" you sigh.

"Uhm"

"You don't have to tell us" says Bucky running his metal hand up and down your back soothingly

"No I'm okay"

"When I was 9 I was kidnapped by hydra."
"They tortured me and experimented on me"
"They killed my parents two years earlier because one: my parents would never give me up and two: the anger and pain helped activate them. they let my pain and anger boil for over two years before they acted."
"My father isn't from earth. i don't know what planet he is from. but he's not from here. kinda like Thor."
"And so I have powers from my fathers side."
"His kind is known as a valedekion. They have weird powers. its extremely rare for valedekion to mate with mortals."
"But my parents had me"
"And it intrigued hydra."
"So they experimented on me. just like they did Wanda and Pietro."
"From electric shocks to beatings to staring at a blank wall frozen not ring able to move while they were murdering and torturing people just so i could hear their screams"
"They even went as far as almost drowning me in a tank full of water"
"They figured out fear was the key to controlling me"
"And the anger made me powers stronger"
"I was a smart child."
"I came up with a plan to escape. i let them abuse and train me like they had been for months on end. i started complying with their orders. they started to trust me."
"That's when I burned that hydra base to the ground around me"
"No ashes on my body. no burn marks. nothing, but the bruises and whip marks from the abuse."
"Fury knew i was kidnapped by hydra. and searched of over two years to find me"
"He knew i am a valedekion. and so when they got wind of the base burning to the ground and a little girl in the center throwing flames from her hands when anyone tried to get close to her." "he knew it was me"
"So he flew straight there. I've never felt so relieved." "i ran an hugged him and didn't let go the entire 3 hour flight back home" "i hadn't hugged anyone since then until Bucky."
"Anyway but while I was there. when they tried using fear and anger to control me. they figured out i use the earth elements to my advantage ie fire, water. air, ice, dirt, wind ect."
"So they brought in the winter soldier to scare me and boil my anger."
"And so I attacked"

I reached down to Buckys ankle and and looked up at him to make sure it was okay. And I pointed out certain scars on his legs.

"That one, was from me throwing fire, that one was from me throwing an icicle through his shin."

"May I?"
I ask Bucky gesturing to lift up his shirt.

"I threw a huge blast of ice and water right here."

Pointing to his right side right under his chest almost on his side under his armpit

"The huge burn on his back is also from me" i sigh

"I want to apologize for what I did to you Bucky. i really do."

And then I lost it. i started sobbing uncontrollably. so Bucky Being well Bucky, picked me up and carried me to my room. staying with me until i started to calm down. Steve had already left.

Bucky gets up to leave:

"If you need anything doll, don't hesitate to-"

"Stay?"
"Buck, please don't leave me"

I started crying again.
Bucky gives in despite his apprehension. and climbs into my bed wrapping his arms around me stroking my hair whispering sweet words into my ear.

"It's okay doll"

"Shh calm down sweetheart"

"I'm not going anywhere"

"You're safe"

"I'm right here. they aren't going to hurt you anymore."

"Shh doll, I need you to calm down. listen to my heartbeat okay?"

"Do you hear it"

I nodded my head burying my face into his chest further. my body still shaking.

"Listen to my heartbeat. focus on it okay?"

"O-okay"

She starts to drift off to sleep.

Bucky starts to calm down a little realizing she's okay.

She wasn't having a panic attack because of him.

But because of what hydra did to her.
The abuse the torture.

Bucky knows it all too well.
