18. Dad?

The room lights up again and everyone is now crying.

They all look at her in silence.

Tony looks down ashamed of himself.

"Im so sorry, y/n i never should have said what i did. It was wrong of me. I am so so sorry."

"I forgive you Tony. Doesn't mean i want to be around you. But i forgive you" y/n says barely above a whisper.

Everyone is silent and has nothing to say. Its so quiet that if you dropped a pin you would hear it.

All of a sudden the door burst open and there stands Fury with year stains now his face.

"Is she okay!?!?"
Fury yells with a shaky voice.

"Im fine, seriously its not a big deal."
Y/n says calmly

Nick then notices Tony in the corner with the rest of the team

"Stark!"
Fury barks. If looks could kill he'd drop over right then and there
The team leaves as fast as possible. Steve stays outside the door incase Buck looses his cool.

"Im sorr-"
Tony starts

"You're dead stark!!!"
Fury seethes

"Guys calm down, I'm okay"
Y/n tries to reason with the mad man and the scared one

Tony walks out of the room now too

"He could have killed you!"

"I know. But i could have snapped his neck with a wave of the hand"
Y/n says nonchalantly

"But i could have lost you"
Fury almost whine/sobs.

"Dad, I'm fine. I promise."
Y/n smiles at him.

"Y-y.. Y/n, you called m-me dad."
Fury sobs.

"Y-you've never called me dad"

"Im gonna leave you guys alone" Bucky whispers in her ear, and wiggles his way out from under her body, careful of her arm.

"I know."
"You are my dad, Nick, theres a fine line difference between a father and dad" y/n says barely above a whisper

"You've raised me Nick, You were there to teach me everything. You opened your home, your heart, you're entire life" she takes a deep breath.
"You never wanted kids before me, you didn't want a family, a family made you vulnerable considering your job. You didn't want to put a family in harms way because of you. Your family in harms way"
"But the thing is, once you saw me so broken, shattered even, you felt the need to take care of me. And i can't thank you enough, dad. I can not express enough how thankful i am for you. You nursed me back to health too many times. Mentally, physically, emotionally. You were always there."
"Thank you." Y/n says tears running down her face.

"Y/n," Fury starts but he just lets out a sob.

Y/n gets out of the bed. Her arm almost healed now. And walks over i where he was leaning against the wall by the door. He slides down the wall to set on the floor. He knees bent up into his chest his face in his hands
Y/n just wraps her arms around him. Holding him tight.

"I love you, Dad" she whispers.
"I love you too baby girl. So much."

"The day i found you. That day replays in my head constantly. That day was the best and worst day of my life" he says "That day i lost my best friend, but i gained a daughter. A family. Y/n i was going down a dark path. I was a severe alcoholic, When my wife died, you were four. I remember showing up at your house to talk to scott, your father. I was a mess. You came down the stairs and saw me. "Uncle Nick!" You yelled. Your dad tried to send you back upstairs. But you didn't listen to him" he takes a deep breath and wipes the tears from his face an continues " you then noticed i was crying, no, more like sobbing. You ran over and climbed up on my lap and wrapped your tiny little arms around my neck and hugged me. You kept telling me that you loved me an everything was gonna be okay. Even though you were just told your aunt Donna had died, you still cared more about me, than the fact your aunt passed away, you wanted me to be okay. Donna was your mothers sister. Thats how your parents met. Your dad was my best friend and i started dating Donna and thats how they met. Your mother was with your grandparents telling them the news, when i showed up at your house. Donna, she was an agent and died on a mission. I couldn't save her and i regret it everyday of my life. I realized the day she died, i would never have a family of my own. I loved her. I've never loved anyone since her. And then when your parents died my entire world crashed. But when i got custody of you, my life turned around. I stopped drinking. And got help. So i could be the man you needed me to be."

"I love you so much"
Y/n sobbed.

"I love you too sweetheart, i love you too"
