Elizabeth was sitting in the field beside the forest, making flower crowns. She was humming happily to herself while her wings curled around her. She was fanning herself lightly with them because it was hot so she was in a light pink sundress.
"Elizabeth!" Elizabeth looked up to see Diane calling her. Diane ran over in her orange sundress and Ban and King in their usual outfits.
"Diane!" Elizabeth hugged Diane and greeted the two boys.
"So, why'd you call us here?" Diane asked as she sat down beside Elizabeth. "You sounded way too happy earlier."
"Oh, nothing really, I just wanted you to meet someone." Elizabeth giggled.
"Is it a boy?~" Ban teased.
"What? Nooo." Elizabeth said.
Diane's face lit up. "So it is a boy!!!!!" She squealed. "Do I know him? What's his name? What does he look like? What race is he? Is he nice? Do you like him? Do you date?!? Tell meeee!"
"You'll find out soon enough. Just wait. He said he'd be late, he's so nice, and cute, and sweet, and caring and muscles... his triceps... His abs..." Elizabeth said dreamily.
Ban and King laughed. "Hellooo~ earth to Elizabeth???" Diane waved her hand in front of Elizabeth's face, snapping her back into reality.
"Sorry, what was going on?" She said.
"You were talking about the boy you invited. This mysterious boy! I need to know something about him!" Ban said.
"Well, he's-" Elizabeth turned her head to the left sharply. Her entire face lit up. "He's here." She turned to her friends. "One more thing, please don't freak out."
They looked confused until a boy landed on the grass a few metres away.
He had tanned skin and blonde hair. He wore a black top/cape thing with blue trim and trousers following the same colour scheme, as well as black boots. (Picture above). He obviously had lots of muscles.
But the two most prominent features were his cold, calculating, ruthless looking stare and the frown on his face that sent shivers down your spine and the big, black demon mark on his forehead.
He took a few steps forward towards them and Diane, King and Ban stood up, reaching for their weapons. "Demon." King hissed.
The demon summoned this huge blade wider than he is and twice as tall as him, and rested it behind his neck in a resting yet threatening way that said "Attack me and I will turn you into people cubes."
The reaction Elizabeth had though, was not to murder this demon, but to run up and hug it. "Mel! I missed you!" She collapsed into his arms. The demon kissed her forehead.
Elizabeth blushed slightly and stood up. "Diane, King, Ban, meet Meliodas. Meliodas, meet Diane, King and Ban."
"Hi." His voice sent shivers down their spine, it was deep like most demons yet it held a innocent playfulness about it, if you could ignore how ruthless his voice sounded. Yet Elizabeth simply smiled.
"Elizabeth, you do realise he's a demon, right?!" King hissed. "He'll kill you!"
"Nonsense." Elizabeth brushed it off. "Meli hasn't hurt me since we first met, and he's really innocent and nice for a demon." And she patted him on the head.
Meliodas looked up at her and he scowled. "Ellie, stop that, I'm not a dog."
"But you're just too cute!"
"I'm not a dog."
"You are now."
"Ellie..."
"Fine. You're not a dog. Just cute." She laughed.
"But I hate being called cute! It ruins my reputation!"
"Didn't hanging out with me already ruin it?" Elizabeth grinned.
"Ah, but that's a secret, see?" He smirked.
Elizabeth sat down and Meliodas followed suit, sitting on her left. Diane, King and Ban sat on her right. They regarded each other warily.
"What should we do?" Elizabeth mused. "Oh I know! Let's play questionaire!"
"Huh? What's that?" Meliodas asked in his chilling voice.
"It's where you hold hands in a circle and you go round the circle asking a single question to one person which they must answer truthfully or they get cut somewhere. You can ask anyone in the circle, but not the same person twice. Got it?" Elizabeth clapped her hands excitedly, like a small child.
"Got it. Let's play." Meliodas smirked. He moved in closer and grabbed Elizabeth's hand. She grabbed Diane's, who grabbed Ban's, who grabbed King's.
"Wait, I don't want to touch him. I don't even want to play." King said, disgusted. He retracted his hand.
Diane and Ban nodded. "I'm so sorry Elizabeth, I just don't trust him. He's a demon." Diane.
"But he can be trusted, I swear!" Elizabeth argued back. Her plan to get all her friends to like him was failing.
"Elizabeth, for god's sake, he eats people like us for fun and he slaughters whole villages of your subjects! He. Is. A. Demon. " King argued heatedly.
"Yeah, as much as I'd like to befriend your boyfriend princess, I just don't exactly want to play a game of questionaire with one I've just met and don't even know. " Ban said ruefully.
King stood up. "This isn't working. I should just go-"
"No need." Meliodas scowled. "I can tell when I'm not wanted. This was a huge waste of time." And he grew wings and flew off.
"Meliodas, come back!" Elizabeth called. When he didn't, she turned to them, a mixture of sadness and anger. "You couldn't even try."
"Elizabeth, we-" king started.
"It took me weeks of persuading for this to happen and you ruined it in two minutes. Thanks a lot." Elizabeth flew off to try and find him.
"Well now I feel bad." Diane said uncomfortably.
"Don't. She knew that this wasnt working out anyway. He's just too dangerous." King said.
"Well, I'm going to find them and apologise, I'd like to try and at least be civil with eachother, for Elizabeth's sake." Diane sprinted off.
Elizabeth flew off to the cave in the middle of the mountains, and as she guessed, he was lying on the edge, his arm covering his eyes. Elizabeth landed on the ledge beside him.
"Mel?" She asked timidly.
"What?" He spat back. Elizabeth took a step back. He realised and said "Sorry Ellie, it's just-"
"I know. They were just plain rude. I thought they would at least try and get along." Elizabeth sighed. She sat beside him and put his head in her lap and started to play with his blonde hair soothingly.
"I'm a demon, Ellie! What did you expect? No one outside my realm except you has ever tried to get along with me! I'm sick of it. I hate having zero friends, except you and my brothers, the rest aren't even friends, just comrades." He ranted.
"I know, it's okay." Elizabeth said softly.
"But it's not." Meliodas sighed. "I hate being lonely, I hate it." And despite his best efforts, a tear slid down his face.
Little did they know, was that Diane had watched the entire scene play out.
