Elizabeth looked extremely worried as her and Meliodas walked back to their room. They walked in silence. Even though the others were going back to the chill out room for a while before sleeping, they would understand why Elizabeth and Meliodas left.

Once in, Elizabeth sat down on the bed. Meliodas automatically sat down beside her, still holding her hand. He'd been holding it for over two hours, ever since the meeting started, and hadn't let go. Elizabeth wondered how much of it was to comfort her.

She turned to him, worry clearly evident on her face. "War. We're in a war. With the Rebellion."

"Uh huh." Meliodas nodded.

"It's really happening, isn't it? That your Father and Rueduciel have started a war against the alliance." Elizabeth looked down.

"It is." Meliodas sighed, and he pulled Elizabeth closer to him. She caught a glimpse of the now filled training grounds from her window. The preparations had started immediately.

It was all sinking in. There really was villages and towns being occupied in Brittania. There really was a rebellion. And that Rueduciel and the Demon King was the cause. It really was a war.

Unable to help it, Elizabeth started to cry.

Meliodas noticed and sat up immediately, pulling Elizabeth into his lap. "Hey, hey, don't cry."

"I'm sorry, I can't help it." Elizabeth sniffed. "All I can think about is this stupid war, and it only got announced a few hours ago."

"Well," Meliodas smirked. "I have a distraction for you." And he kissed Elizabeth, who instantly kissed back.

Elizabeth giggled girlishly as Meliodas pinned her against the bed. "You know, I think this distraction is working." And kissed him passionately.

The next morning, everyone met in the chill out room.

"Morning." Lia said sleepily to everyone as she walked in. Everyone was seated somewhere, and Zeldris was face first in the bed sleeping. She went over to him and poked him once. "Is he dead?"

They all laughed tensely. The threat of the war still weighed heavily on their thoughts.

"He's tired." Gelda replied, looking slightly smug. "A lot of things happened last night, and we were up late."

"Nothing to do with the war, I take it?" Estarossa teased.

Sapphira then burst into the room angrily. "Alright shorty! We need to talk! Get your butt out here!" Sapphira  marched over to a half asleep Meliodas.

"You don't mind if I borrow him for a sec, do you?" She asked Elizabeth. Elizabeth smiled and shook her head. Sapphira grinned. "Thanks. Come on shorty." She dragged Meliodas to the corner of the room by the hair, ignoring his complaints of "ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow!"

"What did you need to drag me out here for?" Meliodas grumbled, rubbing his head.

"All the other guards are talking about a war. They said that Asperl was occupied. Is it true?" Sapphira demanded.

"..."

"Look, don't bloody ignore me!" Sapphira yelled. " Tell me. Is Asperl occupied, are we at war!?"

"Yes." Meliodas finally surrendered under Sapphira's glare. "All true. Look, I know that-"

Meliodas had no time to continue since, not anticipating an attack, Sapphira's fist punched a hole right through his shoulder. He spat up some blood. Estarossa threw Sapphira against a wall, and pinned her there. King had chastefol pointed at her, and Diane and Ban looked mad.
