Luckily, Elizabeth, King, Diane, Zeldris, Meliodas and Estarossa had the day off. Lia was patrolling the Northeast borders of the land they owned. Sapphira was somewhere, no one really knew but she'd pop up sometimes, Merlin was being antisocial and Elaine was looking after the Fairy King's Forest while Ban was doing something in Camelot, Meliodas didn't really care.
Elizabeth had insisted they all come round, so that morning everyone was gathered in her wing, in the lounge. They were all sitting or standing. The war had set them all on edge, especially since they were mostly in the battlefield. Diane was standing in the courtyard, she had lost her shrinking tablets, and was waiting for Merlin to give her some more since the person she used to get them from had sent away to fight. She was peering in through the window.
"So, where is Gelda and Zeldris?" Estarossa asked. "Is it baby stuff?" He barely his the disdain in his voice.
"Cut it out, Estarossa, it's not doing you any favours," Meliodas rolled his eyes. "Family is family, no matter what you think, you accepted Elizabeth, who's a Goddess, and Lia, who was what, six, seven years old, but turned out to be in a curse? If you let them into the family, you might as well accept your soon to be niece or nephew."
Estarossa paused. He'd never heard them phrase it like that before. It was odd to hear that hybrid child addressed as such. "Well, we'll see about that."
"Anyway, Diane, King, what have you been doing?" Elizabeth redirected the conversation.
"Well, we've been trying to maintain an alliance between the Giants and the Fairies, while protecting our lands from the Demon King and that piece of shit's army." Diane answered with a small smile.
"Not to mention fighting, Stigma, all that fun stuff." King yawned.
The door opened, and they all turned around. It was a frightened looking goddess, obviously low ranking. He was trembling as the gaze of two demons rested on him.
"I have a, a-a message from the Supreme Deity." The goddess stuttered.
There was a collective groan from everyone in the room. They couldn't catch a break these days.
"Very well, what is it?" Meliodas asked.
"Well, she s-said that you haven't to leave the wing until her return, and she gave me, she gave me these for the lady Diane," He stuttered, and held out a bottle of little tablets. "I believe they are tablets to shrink giants to human size."
Elizabeth stood up and walked to the terrified goddess. She took the tablets and handed them to Diane. She smiled at the messenger. "Do you know where my mother went?"
"No, your Majesty, she said only that you need not worry as she is well protected and you should take a few days off. That is, you, His Majesty, Princess Lia and Gelda, and the Princes Estarossa and Zeldris. All she asks is that you do not leave your wing." He answered.
"I see, thank you for that, you may go." Elizabeth thanked the messenger.
"Yes, your Majesty." The goddess bowed and scuttled away. The others watch him go.
"Well, that was fun. I wonder what my Mother is up to now." Elizabeth sighed and sank down beside Meliodas.
"No idea. But I can take a few days off," Meliodas wrapped an arm around Elizabeth affectionately. "Where's Zeldris and Gelda, hmm?"
"I don't know." King yawned.
"I feel you need to sleep more, King," Estarossa remarked dryly. "I'm surprised you're still awake."
"He's always tired," Elizabeth laughed slightly. King glared playfully at them. "But I think Gelda was-"
The door to the lounge room swung open and Gelda ran in. She looked around the room and promptly burst into tears. Meliodas and Elizabeth got to their feet in an instant. Elizabeth rushed to her side, and took Gelda's hands in hers.
"Gelda, what's wrong? Are you okay?" Elizabeth asked her worriedly.
"Yeah, are you okay?" Diane, who had just shrunk to human size and put on her clothes, frowned worriedly.
"Yes, I'm fine, it's just, Z-Zeldris disappeared," Gelda stuttered. She sniffed. "I can't find him, he, he, he said that he had to go to a meeting with The Supreme Deity, but that was six hours ago! And he hasn't come b-back!"
Elizabeth hugged her friend tightly. "It's okay, I'm sure he's just busy." She reassured her.
"No, when I asked the Supreme Deity's ladies in waiting they said that she had dismissed them when they went into the throne room and that they were gone a few minutes later, through some portal." Gelda sniffed, and glanced away. She felt embarrassed at her outburst.
"Mother often uses portals to travel, it stops others from seeing her. I'd guess she's taken Zeldris on whatever trip she's went on." Elizabeth guessed.
Gelda straightened and narrowed her eyes. "What trip?"
"Oh, the Supreme Deity sent us a message saying that you, Meliodas, Estarossa, Lia, Zeldris and I are not to leave the wing and take a few days off." Elizabeth answered.
Meliodas stood up and wrapped an arm around Elizabeth. "Well, I don't mind a few days off," he grinned, "But I want to know where my Mother-in-law went with my brother."
"To some secret meeting, most likely. She seems to think that Zeldris has some potential, or something. He's always in a meeting with her," Estarossa rolled his eyes. "Rather annoying."
"More like her bodyguard." King corrected in a bored tone.
"Well, whatever it is," Elizabeth smiled and led Gelda to a chair. She sat down gratefully. "I'm sure he'll be fine."
"After all," Meliodas smirked, and kissed Elizabeth's cheek. "He is my brother."
Sorry this was so short! But, the story is gonna get more interesting from here! Well, for me, maybe not you ;)
