Diane stood near the mouth of the cave, underneath so they couldn't see her. She heard and saw everything.
Diane ran back to the field to find King and Ban, who were arguing about something.
"Why not?!?!?~"
"Because I don't like you."
"You let Diane and Elizabeth have a shot~"
"So? That doesn't mean you can have a shot."
"Yes it does."
"No it doesn't~"
"Does."
"Doesn't~"
"Does."
"Both of you shut up!" Diane yelled. She collapsed onto the grass beside them.
"Diane! What happened? Where's Elizabeth? Did the demon devour her soul?" King exclaimed.
"Not at all." Diane said. "In fact, I saw something strange."
"Like what?"
"Well, It may just be a trick of the light and that I was imagining things, but I think I just saw a demon cry."
"No. Way!" King laughed."Yes"
"That's unheard of!" Ban smiled.
"I know. And I think I know who it was." Diane said.
"Who!?? Tell meeeee!!!!" Ban begged.
"Meliodas." She said simply.
"Definitely not crying. Probably sweating or something." King laughed, almost falling over.
"I'm telling you, he was-"
"- I was what now?" Meliodas's chilling voice came from behind them. He was smirking and had his arms crossed, Elizabeth holding his arm.
"What are you doing here?" King glared. "I thought you said you weren't wanted."
"Not by you." He retorted. "Elizabeth practically dragged me here. I don't want to be here anymore than you do."
"Meliodas! Be nice to them please, they're my friends." Elizabeth pleaded.
"It's not like I want to be friends with a demon anyway." King practically spat. "Elizabeth why did you bring him here?"
"So you can put aside your differences! It's not right to hate others purely on their race!" Elizabeth argued.
"Save it, Elizabeth. We all know that these, these... Things can't be trusted. When did you become so naive?" King argued.
"Don't insult her." Meliodas said angrily.
"Shut up, Meliodas. I don't like or trust you. For all we know, you and your evil, useless, good-for-nothing family are plotting to kill Elizabeth-"
"What did you just say about my family?!" Meliodas growled, summoning his large blade-axe thing. He took a step forward and king summoned his chastefol.
"Watch it, demon." King snarled.
"Shut it, fairy."
"That's it!" King sent his chastefol after Meliodas and Meliodas dodged. Meliodas swung his blade at King.
Only a second too late for him to see Elizabeth jump in front of King. The blade struck her upper arm and sent her flying.
"Elizabeth!" Meliodas yelled and ran over to her. Her arm had a deep gash on it which was bleeding. His face paled. "No, I didn't mean it, I'm so sor-"
"Move out the way, demon! Look what you did!" King yelled when they ran over to Elizabeth.
"No! It wasn't his fault!" She tried to tell them.
"Elizabeth, I can't believe it, I'm so sor-" Meliodas tried to apologise.
"Shut up and go away, bloody demon. I can't believe you're still here, after what you did!" King yelled.
"I told you, I'm sor-"
"Just go away! Haven't you done enough?!?!"
"I-I..." Meliodas stuttered, his eyes seemed to water. Just then his powers switched off and all the cold emotions and the demon mark disappeared off his face. He put his hand over his mouth and ran into the woods.
One look from Elizabeth and Diane walked up, bitch-slapped King twice and ran after Meliodas.
She found him, back against the cliff and he had his legs tucked up to his chest and his head was down.
"Meliodas?" She asked softly.
"What do you want?" Meliodas spat quietly.
"I'm sorry."
"About what?" There was a tone of bitterness in his voice.
"King. He shouldn't have acted like that." Diane apologised.
"I hurt her."
"Huh?"
"I did the one thing I didn't ever want to do."
"It wasn't your fault-"
"But it was. I hit her. I made her bleed."
"It was King's for provoking you. It was his, not yours. Now Elizabeth wants you to come back, she's all healed by now and probably murdering King." Diane said firmly.
"O-Okay." Meliodas stood up. He looked adorable without his powers activated.
"Aw, your so cute! You look adorable." Diane squealed
"Am not."
"Are too." Meliodas pouted. Diane laughed and said "Let's go." She started walking.
Meliodas tapped her shoulder. "Hey, Diane?"
"Hmm?"
"Can I get a piggyback?" And that was how Diane ended up running back into the field with Meliodas on her back, both of them laughing.
Elizabeth squealed when she saw them and flew into the air. "Hey!"
"Ellie!" Meliodas exclaimed happily, like a small child. "Catch me!" And jumped into the air, hoping Elizabeth would catch him.
She laughed and caught him. He laughed and jumped to the ground. "I see you and Diane trust eachother now."
"Yup," Meliodas agreed. "She's really nice. And I even showed her me with my powers deactivated."
"He's so cute!" Diane giggled. "Where's King and Ban?"
"Oh, I yelled at him and he ran off. Ban went to find him." Elizabeth frowned.
They played around until sunset. Meliodas looked in the direction of the woods. "Ellie, I have to go."
"Okay. See you tomorrow?" Elizabeth asked.
"Maybe." Meliodas reactivated his powers and his gaze became cold once again. He kissed Elizabeth. "See you later. Bye Diane." And he flew off.
"He's a keeper, Ellie." Diane laughed.
