"What promise are you two talking about?" Gelda asked curiously. Gelda, King, Diane, Ban, Estarossa and Zeldris were walking to the place Rhyia had Meliodas trapped, Escanor walked behind.

"It's nothing..." Zeldris muttered.

"Sure it isn't, tell me!" Diane squealed.

"No!"

"Yes!" Gelda begged. "Please?!"

"Now I'm curious!" Ban grinned. "C'moonnnn Zelly, tell us!"

"Fine!" Zeldris threw his hands up in he air. "It was from a long time ago."

"What was?"

"Basically, I met Elizabeth when I was little and we were friends. When she told me she liked Meliodas I just kind of said "Go for it." When they started dating, he was getting badly beaten up by some jerks in the clan who wanted to kill him. Long story short, I made a promise to her that I wouldn't let him die..." Zeldris trailed off.

"Awwww!!!!" Diane squealed.

"I never knew you had known about it, brother." Estarossa frowned.

"There was nothing you needed to know." Zeldris replied simply. "Meliodas doesn't even know about the promise."

"Oh."

"Try and keep it to yourself, okay?" Zeldris muttered.

"Okay, we're here." Escanor said. They arrived at a rundown house. "Let's go in."

"Of course it was a rundown house with creaky floorboards and damp walls." Zeldris muttered.

"Shhh!" Diane shushed him.

They tiptoed along the corridors and checked all the rooms. "There's only he basement left to check." King grinned. "Let's kill Rhyia."

"Okay!" Diane whisper yelled excitedly, punching her fist in the air.

"Shhh!"

"Sorry..."

They all trailed to the door of the basement. The door was under the stairs and seemed in very good shape for a building this broken.

"Knew it." Estarossa grinned. "Let's go."

The door opened with a small creak and the seven of them descended the stairs.

"I hate basements..." Zeldris grimaced, picking his way down with distaste. "Too many enclosed areas and not enough exits."

"Shhh!"

"Alright!"

They continued down the staircase until they reached another door. King and Gelda tried running unlock it. "Great, another door." Zeldris muttered.

"You are just in a bad mood today, aren't you?" Estarossa asked him coolly.

"Well, you tell me." Zeldris hissed. "My brother got kidnapped, my friend got tortured and I'm being forced into a basement!"

"You'll note that my brother here has a bit of claustrophobia." Estarossa said to no one in particular.

Escanor nodded. "I noticed. Unlike those beneath me, I don't have any fears or phobias."

"I can tell."

"Will you three shut up!?!" King hissed. "We're trying to rescue someone here! Can you finish your chat someplace else?!"

"Shhh!" Diane shushed them all.

King jiggled the lock a little and it unlocked with a clink. "Yes!"

They pushed open the door slightly and peeked through. Inside, they saw a fairy with only one wing, sitting, giggling at something that the couldn't see.

"Well, is this Meliodas man here?" Escanor prompted.

"Rhyia is, but I can't see Meliodas." King replied. "She's laughing at something, or someone."

"Righty-Oh, let's get this over with." Escanor straightened up. He grabbed his axe and pushed his way forward.

"Escanor?!?! What are you doing!?!" King hissed.

Escanor kicked open the door and Rhyia turned around sharply. The others got into battle positions. Rhyia laughed psychotically.

"Hello~" she laughed. "Welcome to my dream house!"

"Da heck? Is this lady on the purple mushroom?" Estarossa whispered to Diane.

"I don't know! Why ask me! Ask her!" Diane hissed.

"Would you two stop behaving like children! We are on a serious mission here!" King yelled quietly.

Meanwhile, Rhyia was watching the conversation with a confused face. "Wut?"

"Anyhoo~ let's get on with this, shall we?" Escanor laughed. "Where did you put Meliodas?"

"Oh, ickle little Mel?" She smiled. "He's around this corner, on this side of the room. You came for a visit? How lovely!!!!"

She laughed like a maniac. "Come, come, follow me! I'll show you my Mel." The words 'My Mel' had Zeldris ready to rip out his woman's organs one by one.

She led them round the corner of the room to a horror scene.

The floor and walls were dirty, covered in blood and other things. And there, in the middle of it all, lay Meliodas.

Meliodas was chained to the floor, bound by the demon sealing chains. He was cut and bruised and bloody, his clothes shredded. His throat had several cuts on it and so did his wrists. He had a large gash running from his left shoulder to his mid back, and his clothes were shreddded. Meliodas looked like he had been set on fire.

Meliodas looked as if he was sleeping.

Rhyia kicked him, giving Meliodas a distasteful glance before turning back to the nervous looking guests. "I'm sorry, he's been like that all day. Hasn't woken up yet. Sometimes his breathing is there, sometimes it isn't. He's been awfully rude." She laughed.

"Okay, that's enough. Let's get this over with." Escanor chuckled.

"Wha-" Rhyia started but before she could say anything she was bound by chains. Escanor grabbed the chains. "One of you lot get Meliodas. I've got this psychopath."

"How-" King started.

"You mortals talk too much." Escanor said. "You have these big chats before fighting. Just kill them, you don't need to tell them your life story beforehand."

"Oh."

"How do we get those chains off him?" Diane struggled. She held them towards Zeldris and Estarossa. "Here! Your turn!"

"Nope, no, nu-uh, no can do." Estarossa backed up, pulling Zeldris with him. "If I touch them I'll be in his state. Useless. Like a human."

"Okay... Escanor your turn!"

"Do I have to do everything?!" Escanor sighed. He snapped the chains like they were twigs. "You mortals are so weak."

"Shuddup..." Diane huffed.

Estarossa picked up Meliodas's limo little body. He sighed and they carried him out the basement and towards Merlin's lab.
