"Zeldris!" The Demon King yelled.
Zeldris ran up to his Father's office and walked in. "Yes, Father?"
"Go get your insolent brother out of the basement, and give him this, tell him to wear it. We have a meeting with the Supreme Deity and the Goddesses." The Demon King ordered, and chucked Zeldris Meliodas's usual clothes.
Zeldris nodded and walked out the office. On the way to the Basement, he met Estarossa and Lia. Lia had been given her first proper punishment earlier and Estarossa was cleaning up a cut on her leg.
"Hey Zeldris, where you heading off to?" Estarossa called.
"Meliodas. We've got a meeting with the Goddess Clan and he is supposed to be out of punishment today anyway." Zeldris replied. He turned to Lia. "How're you?"
Lia sniffed and stuck her chin out. "Doesn't hurt at all- Hey Esse that stings!" Estarossa was putting a sort of antiseptic cream on her leg.
"Good. I have to go, see you later, sister, brother." Zeldris chuckled.
Zeldris wondered what condition Meliodas would be in this time. The newest torturer was brutal.
Zeldris reached Meliodas's cell.
Meliodas had cuts in a lot of places, and bruises most places. His face was relatively intact, excluding one small cut on his face. His left leg seemed the worst. It had a large barbed wire wrapped around his calf, which he was fiddling with.
"Hey brother. Need help?" Zeldris asked, opening the cell.
Meliodas looked up and grinned, shaking his head. His lip was split slightly. "Nah, I think I can do it." He grabbed the barbed wire and yanked it out of his leg in one quick motion, growling slightly. He stood up as if he had no injuries.
"I guess those are my clothes, huh? Let me just get changed quickly." Meliodas said. Zeldris handed him the clothes.
As he was getting changed, Zeldris asked "Did you see what happened to Lia?"
"Yeah, she got hit with that nailed whip a few times. Father instructed the torturer to go easy on her. He has a soft spot for her." Meliodas replied. "What'd she do anyway?"
"Failed a training session three times in a row."
"Oh okay." Meliodas stood up. "Let's go."
"We have a meeting with the Goddess Clan." Zeldris spoke as they walked to the entrance to the realm.
"Really?" Meliodas's eyes seemed to light up for a second. "I wonder what we did this time."
"Why do you always assume our clan's fault?!" Zeldris exclaimed, mock hurt.
"Because it is usually us." Meliodas chuckled.
They reached the entrance, where everyone was waiting for them. Estarossa had Lia on his hip, she was basically a baby or toddler for a demon. There was Chandler, Cusack, some of the ten commandments, and the Demon King with some low ranking guards.
"Father." Meliodas stated, standing beside him.
"Meliodas." The Demon King greeted coldly. "Let's go everyone."
The Demons exited their realm. They marched up to the Supreme Deity's Fortress. The Goddesses at the large golden trimmed gate pointed their weapons threateningly, but let them in. They walked up the endless halls until they reached the meeting room.
The meeting room had a large hall in the middle, and rows of seats on each side. Above, there was a royal box on each side, for the two corresponding parties. There could be more added if necessary.
The goddesses were already seated. "The Demon Clan." The demon clan's representatives walked in and took their allocated seats. Meliodas locked eyes briefly with Elizabeth, and then she smiled and looked away, blushing.
"What did you call me here for?" The Demon King demanded.
"I have a proposal for you. Its- well, who is this?" The Supreme Deity spoke, pointing at Lia, who waved. She was sitting on Estarossa's knee. He had taken up the role of practically raising her, along with the servants and nursemaids.
"Princess Lia. Adopted. Now back to business." The Demon King answered. "You said you had a proposal for me?"
"Yes. It seems that my daughter Elizabeth is marked by your son, Meliodas." The room burst into angry comments.
"Mel?!" Zeldris hissed. "A goddess, really?"
Meliodas had a poker face on. "And?"
"Ugh, you're impossible-"
"Now, everyone be quiet!" The Supreme Deity commanded and the council silenced. "Well, as I was saying, this can be used to our advantage."
"I'm listening." The Demon King leaned forward, smirking.
"What am I being forced into now?" Meliodas muttered. He noticed that Rueduciel had his hand on Elizabeth's shoulder and was whispering things to her. Elizabeth looked severely uncomfortable and annoyed. Meliodas let out a low growl from the back of his throat.
The Supreme Dirty heard it and looked to her daughter. "Rueduciel, enough!"
"Yes ma'am." Rueduciel smirked and leaned back in his chair.
"Yes, well, I'm thinking of the peace treaty we recently established between our two clans. I have a plan in mind that will not only strengthen our clans alliance, but prove it's reality. I doubt that either of our children will disagree to it either."
"This plan is...?"
"Elizabeth is my heir, and Meliodas is yours, correct?" The Demon King nodded. "So what I'm suggesting is a marriage proposal between them."
The council gasped and erupted into chatter, angry and shocked.
"I see." The Demon King said. "And how does this benefit the two clans?"
"You see, once we retire it's Elizabeth and Meliodas's turn to rule. If our children were to be married, they would prove and strengthen the alliance between our two clans. They might even rule both clans at once."
"I don't want my clan being ruled by a goddess!" The Demon King yelled, slamming his fist down.
"It's not yours next year, now is it?" The Supreme Deity said smugly. "And it's not just one sided, Meliodas would have rule over the Goddess Clan as well."
"Fine. I give consent to this wedding." Meliodas flashed a quick grin at Elizabeth, who returned a smile.
Rueduciel burst out "But I don't."
"Excuse me?" The Supreme Deity asked. "Why?"
"Because, what if I would like Elizabeth's hand instead?"
"Too bad, Archangel, you can't have her. No one can." Meliodas smirked.
Rueduciel slid his hand onto Elizabeth's shoulder and she gasped and tried to slide away. "Oh really?" He smirked.
"Get your hands off her!" Meliodas snarled. The council began to murmur among itself.
"No." Rueduciel pulled Elizabeth nearer himself.
"I mean it, Archangel." Meliodas snarled angrily. "Or would you like to find out what it's like without wings?"
The councilroom got tense at the threat the demon spat out. Rueduciel's eyes blazed and he flew at Meliodas, attempting to attack Meliodas with an Ark but an old man yelled "Weapons only, no magic!" So he summoned a sword and charged at Meliodas with it.
Meliodas jumped out of the way of the enraged Archangel. He landed on the large floor in the middle.
The enraged Archangel kept charging at him and the others let them fight until Meliodas sliced his left wing. "Enough!" The Supreme Deity yelled and she pulled Rueduciel back into his seat. And Meliodas sat back down in his.
"Now, if no one has anymore objections, then I officially decree that, with the consent of the Demon King, Goddess Elizabeth and Demon Meliodas are to be married next month!"
