Elizabeth woke up with a smile on her face. It only widened when she remembered last night. Elizabeth decided it was one of her best nights ever.

Sighing happily, she rolled over to find the spot where Meliodas would be to be empty. Sitting up, she rubbed her bleary eyes. She glanced at her bed, where Lia and Meliodas were talking happily. Well, Lia was talking happily and Meliodas was listening.

"What you guys talking about?" Elizabeth asked, coming to sit beside them on the bed.

"The founding of the kingdom festival!" Lia beamed.

"Lia here wants to go to the festival because she was never aloud to go when she stayed in Balance Point." Meliodas chuckled. He was combing her wavy blonde hair.

"But isn't the festival held in Balance Point?" Elizabeth asked, brows furrowed.

"Yep! The lady at the orphanage said 'I don't want you throwing a tantrum and becoming a danger to society!' so I wasn't aloud to go with the other kids." Lia said sadly.

"Well, we'll take you, won't we Mel?" Elizabeth smiled.

"I never said tha-" Elizabeth shot him a glare. "I mean, of course we will." Meliodas said quickly.

"Yay! I'm going to the festival! I'm going to the festival!" Lia cheered.

"Not if you don't sit still." Meliodas threatened, holding the comb. She sat back down quickly. Meliodas continued brushing her hair. Once he was done, he said "Why don't you get Elizabeth to pick out a pretty dress for you to wear to the festival?"

"Okay!" Lia bubbled. She pulled Elizabeth off to get dressed.

Meliodas saw everyone was still sleeping so he crept out and grabbed a chair from the balcony. He slammed it on the floor. The loud noise woke everyone up. "I'm up! Don't slap me mum!" Ban yelled.

Everyone laughed sleepily. Zeldris was still asleep.

"I have an idea." Meliodas smirked evilly. He picked Zeldris up and dropped him off the balcony. There was a loud crack and a few screeches.  Zeldris flew back up to the balcony and punched Meliodas in the face.

"What the heck, brother?! I just got impaled by a fence and a maid fainted!" Zeldris yelled.

"Well then stop being lazy and get up for once and this wouldn't happen!" Meliodas yelled back, smirking.

"Ugh, I hate you." Zeldris grumbled.

"Sure you do." Meliodas smirked. "Now, everyone get dressed, we're going to the festival!"

Meliodas put on a white shirt and some black trousers with boots. Zeldris did the same, but with a black shirt and a loose red tie. Estarossa wore a black shirt with a black waistcoat and black trousers and large boots.

Ban wore no top and red boots, red trousers and a red jacket. He dressed funny.

Diane had on an orange loose playsuit and sandals. Her hair, which was usually in pigtails, was down. She added a cute headband to her hair.

Gelda was in a long silver strapless lace top with cropped black leggings and some sandals. Her hair was in a braid as usual.

Elizabeth burst in with Lia on her hip.  Lia was in a black dress with red flowers on it, with black sandals and her hair in low pigtails.

Elizabeth was in a white strapless flowing sundress with lace trims and a pink sash tied in a bow on her waist with white heeled sandals. She had a straw hat on with a pink ribbon.

"Are you all ready to go?" Elizabeth asked.

"Yep! Let's move out people!" Meliodas yelled.

They headed down to Balance Point and entered the village with no hassle, this was the only time of the year you didn't need to pass through a barrier to gain entry.

It was filled with people, stalls were everywhere, music was playing, people running around and laughing, entertainment set up everywhere. Lia's face lit up.

"Hey, brother, Ellie, can we go watch the puppet show, please please please? The kids used to talk about it all the time!" Lia begged.

Elizabeth smiled at Lia. "Of course sweetie, let's go. Come on Mel. Let's all meet up at the town square at lunch time, okay?" She grabbed Meliodas's hand and they started walking to the puppet show with Lia.

Lia ran happily into the tent and Elizabeth and Meliodas inspected the nearest stall. It was selling something to do with kids.

"Hey, Mel?" Elizabeth asked, busy inspecting the stall.

"Yeah?"

"Do you want kids someday?"

"Yeah, I do."

"Really?" Elizabeth said excitedly. "Me too."

"Let's put it to the top of the list then, shall we?" Meliodas smirked, raising an eyebrow.

"Shuddup!" Elizabeth smiled, playfully slapping his shoulder.

About twenty minutes later, Lia ran out the tent happily. She hugged Elizabeth tightly. "Ellie! It was better than the other children said it would be! The man played three puppets at once!"

Elizabeth smiled at Lia's innocence.

"I'm sure that was amazing! Meliodas and I have an idea, how about a picnic?" Elizabeth wondered. Lia nodded her head rapidly. "Yep? Well, let's go to the food stalls and we can get some stuff from each stall, okay?"

"Even the sweets stall?" Meliodas said hopefully. Lia nodded hopefully too.

Elizabeth nodded."Even the sweets stall."

"Yes!" They both said at once.

"God you're such a kid sometimes, Meliodas." Elizabeth joked.

"Yeah, but you love me anyway." Meliodas grinned, slipping his hand into hers.

"I know." Elizabeth smiled happily.

They walked to every stall selling food and bought something. Being royalty meant they had no shortage of money.

They met up in the town square. Meliodas sought out familiar faces. "Found them, they're over there." Meliodas bent down to Lia's level. "Why don't you run along and surprise Estarossa with a big hug?"

Lia nodded and ran towards Estarossa. Meliodas stood up and kissed Elizabeth's cheek. She kissed him back and grabbed his hand. They walked over to the others. "Hey."

"Hi." They chorused.

"So, where are we going to eat?" Estarossa asked, giving Lia a shoulder ride.

"We bought a picnic!" Elizabeth squealed.

"All right!" Ban punched the air.

They walked to a hill overlooking the village. Elizabeth set down a large blanket and brought out sandwiches, fruit, bread, juice, water, meat, and ale.

They all started eating happily. They chatted amongst themselves.  "So, Diane, when are you going to confess to King?" Elizabeth wondered.

"I don't know." Diane sighed. "He's been a big idiot lately. I don't think I'll confess until he stops being such a jerk."

"Okay then." Elizabeth giggled.

"Enough about my love life. How about yours." Diane leaned in. "How's life with your fiancé?"

"It's actually really good. The only problem is that Meliodas had nightmares that make him scream in the middle of the night. He yells things like 'No! Stop!' and 'Don't hurt him/her!' and 'Never!' and 'I won't let you touch her!' It's rather scary. He usually wakes up crying." Elizabeth frowned. "He won't tell me what they're about."

"That seems terrible." Diane muttered.

"It is. It's like he doesn't trust me enough. He gets mad when I bring the subject up."

"They must be tough, those dreams. They may even be memories."

"He had one last night, it was scary. I don't think he went back to sleep."

Diane bit into a mysterious sandwich. "These sandwiches are really good!"

"I know!" Elizabeth agreed.

Elizabeth looked in Meliodas's direction. "I wish you'd trust me enough to tell me."
