"Would you go just go away!" Meliodas replied angrily, yelling from behind the door.

"Let us in!" Diane yelled stubbornly.

From the moment Meliodas woke up, something happened and he locked himself in his room, or the room where we was staying while in a coma. Only Elizabeth and Zeldris knew and they were the only ones Meliodas would let in. Unfortunately, they won't tell anyone what is going on.

"I said to leave me alone!"

"No! Let us in!" Diane insisted.

"What is going on here?!" Elizabeth hissed.

"Elizabeth!" Diane pouted. "He won't let us in! Tell him we can come in!"

"You can't go in." Elizabeth crossed her arms. "He said no."

"Come on Princess, please?" Ban wheedled. "I know he's your boyfriend and all, but he should let his friends in."

"Fiancé actually." Elizabeth corrected. "And anyway, Zeldris is already in, and I'm late. So could you move out the way...?"

Elizabeth didn't give them a chance to reply as she forcefully nudged everyone out of the way and ran into Meliodas's room.

"How rude..." King muttered. "She used to have manners before she met him."

Inside the room, Meliodas was sitting on his bed. Zeldris was staring out the window. When Elizabeth arrived, he breathed out a sigh of relief. "What took you so long?"

"The others wanted to see him and demanded I let them in. They've been quite rude lately." Elizabeth answered.

"Do you have the stuff?"

"Yes, Zelly."

"Please don't call me that." Zeldris winced.

"Pfffttttt! Zelly!" Meliodas laughed.

"Shut up!" Zeldris went red. "Or I will just rip it out now."

Meliodas's hands went to his chest protectively. "Don't. You. Even. Dare."

"Boys!" Elizabeth whistled. "Merlin's here."

"Oh, hi Merlin!" Meliodas beamed.

"Hello, captain." Merlin smirked. "Are you ready for it?"

"No, not really, but I'd rather have this done than be powerless forever."Meliodas chuckled uneasily.

"Wonderful! Should we begin?" Merlin asked, and everyone nodded.

"Here, drink this Mel." Elizabeth offered him a cup. "It'll make you pass out for about three to four hours."

"Alright." Meliodas agreed. He put the cup to his lips, but then paused. "And Merlin? Please try to keep everything there that is supposed to be there?"

Merlin laughed. "Sure, no experimental samples. Got it."

They all laughed quickly. Meliodas drank the liquid and his green eyes closed. He fell asleep. Elizabeth carefully took off his top.

"Okay, on you go Merlin."

Merlin, being very precise, took the scalpel and placed the point on Meliodas's chest. And ripped his chest open.

Elizabeth couldn't look and walked out into the bathroom. The tears threatened to fall. How Meliodas put on such a brave face all the time, Elizabeth didn't know. "If only they know what I know... What he went through..."

Elizabeth woke up when a weight was lifted from the bed. Peeking open one eye, she saw Meliodas slide against a wall. Tears streamed openly from his face, and he gripped his hair tightly. He was breathing heavily.

Meliodas muttered to his self, in between choked sobs and the occasional intake of breath. "Stupid, stupid... Why me... Why her... I don't deserve it... She doesn't deserve it... How... Not worth it... No... It isn't happening... Not real... Calm down... But she... I can't... Help... Nightmares... I should just kill- No, I can't... she wouldn't even... leave me alone-"

His head shot up when Elizabeth moved slightly as if to sit up. He quickly jumped into bed.

Other memories popped into mind. Elizabeth didn't know how long this had been happening but she definitely didn't like it. Unfortunately, there was only so many types of pain Goddesses could heal.

There was a knock on the door. "Hey, Elizabeth? You okay?" It was Zeldris.

Elizabeth opened the door to see Merlin putting away her things. "Wow, you're fast."

"You've been in there two hours." Merlin pointed out.

"Oh."

"Are you sure you're okay?" Zeldris asked.

"I'm fine."

Zeldris gave her a look that stated "Sure you are". He sighed then he looked at Merlin. "What do we do about the mob outside?"

Elizabeth had almost forgotten about her friends. It seemed even worse when she thought it out loud.

"How about you let them in and just tell them he is asleep and you should let him rest." Merlin schemed.

"Alright. Ready to keep this secret, El?" Zeldris winked.

"Oh, dear lord. Did Zeldris just wink at me?" Elizabeth said dramatically, spreading her wings out wide. "I should tell Gelda. Or Meliodas. Zeldris has feelings. But to answer your question, yes I am Zelly."

Elizabeth opened the door slightly and saw everyone staring holes into her head. "Uh, you can come in, but he's sleeping."

They all walked in quietly, and sat in awkward silence.

"So..." King said uncomfortably. "How is he, Merlin?"

"He is recovering." She said vaguely.

"Oh."

"How wonderful." Diane said sarcastically. "He almost killed us all with worry for nothing."

"Diane! What is your problem!" Estarossa yelled.

"I don't know, maybe ask the one that got us all into this mess in the first place!"

"What's going on?" Lia trembled. She hated when adults yelled. It meant that something serious was going on.

"Lia, sweetie, why don't you go to the kitchen? I'm sure the cook will let you bake cookies." Elizabeth whispered.

"Okay!" Lia agreed, running out the room.

Diane argued "Maybe it's because he is a walking disaster that is bad for us!"

"Diane, he's just been tortured, for goodness sake! Cut him some slack!" Gelda said.

"Don't stick up for him, you, you- you vampire!"

"Diane, leave her the fuck alone..." Zeldris growled threateningly.

"Yeah Diane, what is your problem?" King almost yelled.

"Oh I don't know," Diane said sarcastically. "The fact that, upon researching his name, he has butchered hundreds of men, women and children, is next in line for the clan that tried to kill us all, eats souls, is in love with a goddess- Oh, and the most recent ones; gotten us in danger, got him kidnapped and Him and Elizabeth tortured, put himself in a coma and almost broke about five peace treaties!"

And before anyone could say anything, she added "And he thinks he's not a monster."

The word monster is extremely offensive to demons and vampires, and can be classed, on some levels, as racist, as it is a word used to degrade and/or highly insult them.

Everyone stood in stunned silence. Until a trembling Zeldris stood up, followed by Gelda and Estarossa.

They stormed out, Zeldris last. Before leaving, though, Zeldris leaned into Diane's earcand whispered three words that said so much more;

"Burn in Hell."
