DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT ANY OF THIS BESIDES THE THINGS YOU DONT RECOGNISE. THE THINGS YOU DO RECOGNISE BELONG TO THE FABULOUS J.K. ROWLING!!
Lily Evans, smart, fiery tempered, beautiful, orphan, hater of a certain James Potter but most importantly a bit uptight. This is what people at Hogwarts think when you say Lily Evans. But in actual fact Lily was not really that uptight, she loved rock music and to let loose when she thought no one was watching.
This is a story of Lily learning to let loose in front of her friends and almost every one else in Hogwarts. Lily's Point Of View
It's my last year at Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft And Wizardry and I've promised myself to let the real me come through this year. It may be a bit hard because I'm Head Girl this year, but I'll try. As I become all but lost in my musings I remember that I have to go find my friends, Alice Cornwell (a half-blood), Marlene McKinnon (a pure-blood) and Isabelle Davies (a muggle-born like me). I do hope Remus Lupin is Head Boy, he is really the only boy I can stand in their little group, The Marauders, they even have little nicknames for each other it is really quite amusing. Potter is 'Prongs', Black is 'Padfoot', Remus is "Moony' (this makes sense because he's a lycanthrope or werewolf) and little Peter is 'Wormtail'. Anyway either him or Frank Longbottom, definitely not Potter or Black and would you even consider Peter in this? I chuckled to myself at this and that's when I heard it.
"EVANS!" That arrogant prat just had to go ruin my good morning. However when I turned around preparing to deal with Potter mentally, I saw that it was my friends charging towards me instead. I just laughed at this and let them envelope me in a massive hug.
We made our way onto the train to try and find an empty compartment to share what happened in or holidays as per usual. Eventually we found one and put our trunks away.
"So Lily I see you have been made Head Girl, as was expected by all of us." Came Marlene's daring voice from opposite me. "Yeah. All I'm wondering though, is who the Head Boy is." I replied
"I bet it's Remus or Frank" Alice said dreamily. She's had a crush on Frank since third year.
'Yeah that's what I thought too." Came Isabelle's sweet, soft voice from beside me.
"Same. It's definitely not Potter or Black." I told them.
"What about Peter?" Isabelle asked.
"Do we even count him?" Marlene scoffed.
"Not really, in this situation anyway." Was Isabelle's reply.
"Lily?"
"Yeah?"
"Aren't you meant to be at the Prefect's meeting?"
"Crap!! I'll be back later."
I literally sprinted out of there, to try and get to the meeting on time. I checked my watch three minutes till I gotta be there. When I arrived I saw that the Head Boy wasn't here yet. Hmmm.
"Well, I guess we will have to wait for a few minutes for him but then I will carry on with the meeting." I told the Prefects. About five minutes later I gave up and started the meeting.
"I guess we will have to start without him then. Now-" I was cut off as the door banged open to reveal a very puffed James Potter.
"Potter!" I hissed "What are you doing here?!"
"Same as you by the looks." He said pointing to my badge.
I gave a look over and saw that he indeed had a badge with the letters 'HB' on it ,like my 'HG', pinned to his chest.
I stared at him, a disbelieving look on my face. I muttered to myself "Dumbledore has finally lost it" in plain fury. I quickly composed myself.
"OK, back to what I was saying, as Prefects you have to patrol the corridors at night and uphold the rules. We will all take turns each week to patrol and you are to report it to either myself, Professor McGonagall or him' I said pointing to Potter, not wanting to say his name in case that made it more real. "Is that understood?"
There were mumbles of agreement. "Good, the roster for the patrols is as follows 5th year; Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Slytherin, Hufflepuff. 6th year; Slytherin, Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw. Finally 7th year; Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Slytherin. Patrols will change every hour. You are dismissed."
I stormed out as soon as everyone else had left. I fled back to the safety of my compartment and my friends.
"So, who was it?" Alice asked.
I grunted.
"Ahhh" it was Marlene's voice this time. "Only one person could made Lily Evans grunt as an answer and that's-"
"-Potter" they sing-songed.
"Shut up!"
Suddenly my eyes widened in realisation.
"Oh, no!"
"What?"
"Oh, no, no, no, no, no ,no, no. NO!!"
"WHAT?" They screamed at me.
"I... I... I have to share a dorm with him!" I screamed in defeat.
"Oh" was their brilliant reply.
"Anyway, lets change this gloomy topic to some thing a bit more cheery." Said Isabelle
"Okay" I replied. I thought for a moment. "Oh! I have to tell you guys something."
"What?"
" I'm going to be a little bit more like my usual self this year!" I told them thoughtfully
"Oh Lils that's a brilliant idea" said Alice, enveloping me in another massive hug.
"Yea!" Seconded Marlene, joining the hug .
Isabelle didn't say anything, but it was obvious she decided she needed in on the love, as she jumped into the hug.
After the not-so-eventful train ride and the even more not-so-eventful ride in the horseless carriages we entered the great hall and sat down at the Gryffindor table, watched the sorting, ate dinner, listened to speech, directed 'Ickle Firsties' as Peeves calls them to common room. As I was walking to McGonagall's office to get the password and location of my dorm, I wondered what sharing a dorm with Potter would be like. Probably me yelling at him and him asking me out. Aaarghh!
I reached McGonagalls office and knocked twice.
"Where is Mr. Potter?" McGonagall asked when she saw that Mr Potter wasn't here.
I just shrugged. It seemed to be enough for her though as she lead me to the fourth floor and stopped in front of a painting of a beautiful landscape of the Hogwarts grounds. The painting also had five animals there was a stag, a dog, a rat and a wolf running around on one side and a beautiful doe on the other side. A thought quickly followed when I noticed the doe. 'Does he know what I am?' Fear flooded me when I thought this and I quickly brushed it off. 'Well obviously Lily! If he didn't you wouldn't be allowed to attend Hogwarts!' I mocked myself harshly. I suddenly remembered Mcgonagall was there.
"-Prefect meetings, Hogsmeade visits, balls and biweekly reports to either Proffesor Dumbledore or myself. Understood?"
"Yes." I was assuming that these were things I had to do.
"Well then, the password is 'Cookie' all you do is call one of the animals over and tell them the password and to change it both of you must be present and you must call the doe and the stag over. Understood?"
"Yes"
