I tossed and turned in my sleep, in utter distress about my situation.
'There is no way I like James Potter.' I thought to myself.
Yet while my brain denied it my heart wouldn't.
'Stupid heart and brain. Never agreeing with each other.' I thought grumpily as I got out of bed.
I grabbed my robes, shoved them on, brushed my hair and teeth, and walked out into the common room with my satchel.
It seemed my worst fears had come true, James was waiting it the common room for me.
I yawned and said hi to him before leaving the common room.
He caught up with me and started talking to me.
"How'd ya sleep last night Lil?" He asked.
I yawned as an accidental reply.
He chuckled. "Not well I'm guessing?"
I nodded and walked into the Great Hall.
In the Hall I sat next to Alice and we started to talk about random stuff.
Eventually the subject of the next Hogsmeade visit came up.
"So Lil? Who ya goin' with?" Alice asked cheekily.
I shrugged and replied. "I'm going with Isabelle, Marlene and the guys."
A grin spread across Alice's face.
"Alice? What's going on?" I asked cautiously.
"I thought you knew Lily. But Isabelle and Marlene have dates." Alice said with that stupid grin still on her face.
"WHAT!?" I screeched. "Who're they going with?" I continued.
"Isabelle's going with that Ravenclaw, Matt Corner I think it is? Anyway, and Marlene's going with Hayden Thomas from Gyffindor." She explained.
I sighed. "It's settled. I'm gonna grab some stuff from Hogsmeade and run back here." I stated firmly.
Alice laughed."And why would that be Lily? Why would you want to spend a beautiful Hogsmeade weekend in this stuffy castle?"
"You know why." I grumbled.
She smirked. "Oh c'mon Lil! It's just one day. And all four of em will be there." She started to plead.
"Why would you want me there this badly Ali?" I asked, curious.
She blushed and looked down. "In case Frank calls the date off early." She said, still looking down.
"ALICE!" I cried. "Frank will not do that." I stated in a whisper, but still in an extremely firm tone.
She nodded and went back to her food, still looking glum.
I nudged her and she looked up at me.
"Ali, there's no reason to be glum. You and Frankie are perfect for each other, I've thought about how, many, many, many times." I said solemnly, putting my hand over my heart and nodding slowly.
She laughed at my antics and this but a bright smile on to my face.
This was about the time James, Sirius and Remus joined our conversation.
"Hey Lily? What's with all the shouting?" Remus asked.
"Oh, sorry Rem. And Marlene and Isabelle have dates and they didn't even tell me." I stated, defeated.
