I woke up early and literally jumped out of my bed.

I got into the shower and washed my hair.

As I put the conditioner in I started to sing quietly.

"I am tryin' not to tell you, but I want to

I'm scared of what you'll say

So I'm hidin' what I'm feelin'

But I'm tired of holdin' this inside my head

I've been spendin' all my time just thinkin' 'bout you

I don't know what to do, I think I'm fallin' for you

I've been waitin' all my life, and now I found you

I don't know what to do, I think I'm fallin' for you

I'm fallin' for you." I sang softly, and happily, to my surprise.

I grinned.

'It may be the reason for my survival during this.' I thought.

'Singing and staying, happy.'

I got out of the shower, put on some deodorant and got dressed.

I pulled my hair into a sloppy ponytail as I hurried down my stairs.

Not to my surprise, James wasn't there.

I shrugged off my hurt feelings and continued towards the Great Hall.

I thought this was the best way to play my hand. To just pretend it doesn't bother me. Ignore anything that comes my way from him. Deal with it.

I sat down next to Henry who was chatting happily to another first-year.

"Morning Lily." Henry greeted after he finished his conversation.

"Morning Hen. Made a new friend?" I asked.

He flushed and shrugged.

"I dunno."

"I think you have." I replied with a smile.

He smiled shyly before changing the subject.

"Have you heard the rumors?" He asked, humor filling his voice.

"What rumors?"

"Ooh! Well, y'know how Sirius and Marlene are going out? There's heaps of rumors about how he got her to say yes." I exclaimed delighted.

"Like what?" I asked, struggling to keep my voice laughter free.

"The first one I heard was that Sirius had saved her from a werewolf last night." He laughed.

It was technically true. Sirius, Isabelle and I had stopped him from coming near the castle.

"That's the most absurd thing I've heard this year." I spluttered through my laughter.

"I know! But, there's also some other ones. About you, and James." He winced, obviously not wanting to have to tell me but he knew I should hear it from someone I trusted.

"What?" I asked cautiously.

"Well, the one I heard was that he saw you and Sirius snogging. That's why he's dating that Beth Tubs person." He winced.

The rumor was almost true, except for the snogging part.

"That did not happen. Marlene wouldn't have agreed to going out with Sirius if that happened." I exclaimed.
