The week trickled past until it was early Sunday morning.

James had gone back to ignoring me, I was perfectly fine with it too.

I grabbed the Quidditch gear Marlene had given me and pulled it on.

James had told us to be at the pitch at 6. It was now 5:50.

I grabbed my broom and ran the whole way down to the pitch.

I met Marlene and Sirius on the way and we arrived together. Everyone else was already there.

"Sorry we're late." Marlene panted.

James gave us a hard look before making a strategic speech or whatever that I wasn't really listening too. It was to early.

We were playing Ravenclaw and I knew we were going to beat them but I think James wanted to thrash them.

The speech-thingy lasted about half an hour. The rest of the 2 and a half hours we used for practising.

Eventually the match started.

I flew up above everyone else and started to look for the Snitch.

Sirius and Marlene we on fire. Pelting the Bludgers every which way.

James, Frank and the other Chaser were scoring left, right and centre.

The keeper was blocking pretty much all their shots too.

But the Snitch was no where to be seen.

The Ravenclaw Seeker was hovering below me, following me.

By the time James called a time out it was 100-40 our way.

"Good work everyone. We've got a good lead but if they catch the Snitch it's all over." He gave a pointed look at me.

I rolled my eyes as he dismissed the rest of the team.

"Evans! I want you to catch that Snitch ASAP." He glared.

'Already back to last names are we?' I snarled inside my head, but I didn't let it show.

"You want me to catch the Snitch? Oh, I can catch it. But you need to be ready to catch." I retorted before mounting my broom and flying off.

Another ten minutes later and it was 150-100. They were catching up.

The Ravenclaw Seeker was still following me.

Suddenly I saw a glimmer of gold near the ground.

I pulled into an almost vertical dive. The trouble was that the Ravenclaw Seeker was closer to it.

There was no way I was going to be able to catch him on a broom.

Only my back-up plan would guarantee success now.

It went against all of my instincts, but... I still did it.

I let go.

My broom halted where it was and my body shot forwards.

I was free-falling for a moment before I straightened my body and extended my arms out above my head.

Over the wind whistling in my ears I managed to hear screams and some of the commentary.

"EVANS HAS LET GO OF HER BROOM!" He yelled.

I was a streak of scarlet, I whizzed past the Ravenclaw Seeker and caught the Snitch from right under his nose.
