Chapter 14- Hacked

That night I was up all night thinking the day over. I had asked my Aunt what she would do if she thought she liked a boy as more then just a friend; and she just said, 'Why you asking me, I'm 45 and have never been married.'
My pacing begins at 11:30 at night, I'm stressed and when I'm stressed I pace. I guess I wasn't the only one up when I heard a loud knock coming from the window pane.
I make my way over taking a flashlight off my bedside table for lighting and self defence. Unhitching the window and aiming the flashlight right in the persons face.
"MITCH?" I say astonished.
"Hi-ya!" He says waving, "we have to get going, Mrs. Bird says we can't investigate because we're to young but I don't care! I hacked into her computer and found some info!"
"You what!"
"I do it all the time no worries!"
My jaw drops how can this kid go from miserable to fun loving in just nights so I decide to ask him.
"How can you go from upset to fun loving in just 3 days!"
"Magic!" He says waving his hands in the air like a magician.
"No seriously! What happened!"
"My dad didn't die, ya see he just is on another mission."
"Then why did Mrs. Bird say he failed this mission?"
"That was cover! She new you were there before I did. Smart lady."
     My stomach turned I was happy Mitch's dad was alive but now we had nothing in common.
"What happened to we tell each other everything?!"
"Oh that can start right now." He says raising his right hand and crossing his heart, he gestures for me to do the same; and I did.
"So lets get going on that mission!!!" He says a little to excited.
"I guess," I say.
"Let the adventure begin!"
And before long I'm dangling from a rope out my bedroom window on the way to my first mission.
