Your POV
You took Bill's advice as soon as you got home. You changed into pajamas, turned off the lights, and opened your journal. You grabbed a black light and hovered it over the blank pages.
They weren't actually blank. There was writing on the page, handwritten by your mother. You began reading.
(Y/n), I know this is you reading. I told your father to give this journal to you, and to let only your eyes see it.
By now, you've heard of Bill Cipher, and how nice and good a friend he is. Well, I lied. bill is evil, chaotic, and downright awful.
To get him to work with us, I had to make a deal with him. I never knew my side of the deal until you were four years old. By then, I started noticing how he acted around you. He always smiled and played around with you whenever you were in the lab. And whenever you had nightmares (which you had all the time), he replaced them with magical, beautiful ones.
I confronted him one day, asking him what my part of the deal was. He told me that I was to give him a reason to live. He wanted me to give him someone to love. For a while, I believed he was talking about me, but your father insisted that it wasn't.
One day, I was writing in this journal, and you were behind me, sleeping in a chair. Bill walked- or rather, floated- in, just as you started having a nightmare. He lightly touched your head, giving you a good dream. You smiled, curling up into a ball. He sat down on the table in front of you, moving your hair away from your face.
He then kissed your forehead, muttering things like "mine" and "beautiful."
It then clicked. He didn't want me. He didn't want a random girl. He wanted you. That's why he was so kind to you. I exchanged infinite knowledge for the price of my daughter.
We had a fight. I refused to give my daughter away to him. He argued back, saying that we had a deal. I left the lab, taking you with me.
I will probably be dead soon, (Y/n). I'm so sorry that I wasn't here for you, and to watch you grow up. I'm sorry that I gave you away for knowledge. You must know that I love you, deeply and truly. Goodbye, (Y/n).
~Alice, your mother
You closed the journal and sighed, laying down. How could she do that? Make a deal with someone, not knowing what you need to give? You didn't understand.
You stayed up for a while, thinking about the journal, before sleep eventually won over you.
~~~~~~~
You ran. You ran, and ran, and ran through the woods. You turned around, but didn't see the creature from earlier. You turned back around, and was met face-to-face with the huge, furry monster. You screamed, falling backwards onto the ground. It moved to attack you, and you moved your arms protectively in front of your face.
You woke up in a cold sweat, about to scream until someone covered your mouth.
"Don't scream. I don't want your dad coming in here." Bill?
They slowly uncovered your mouth and turned on the table lamp on your nightstand. Your suspicions were correct- it was Bill.
"Why are you in my room?" You asked him.
"I wanted to talk to you." He shrugged. "Y'know, see if you did what I said."
You narrowed your eyes. "Yes, I did. Get out."
"(Y/n), let me explain."
"No, Bill. There's no need to. Get out of my room, before I get my dad."
He sighed. "Fine." He snapped his fingers. teleporting away.
You looked around your darkened room before seeing a picture of your mom. You grabbed it, looking at it before talking.
"Mom, what do I do? I want to give Bill a chance, but from the rumors I've heard... I'm just not sure. He just seems so... kind, and gentle. It's just... I don't know, mom." You looked at the photo for a minute before putting it back. You shut the light off and laid back down, getting some more sleep.
Bill turned visible, sitting on the edge of your bed. He moved some hair from your face, then leaned down and kissed your forehead. "Don't worry, (Y/n). I won't make you come with me. But I can at least try to win your affection." He left with a sad smile on his face.
