"Hey, what are you doing here? The Quarrymen is playing Maggie Mae, and you're here wasting your time pissing?" Abby grabbed my hand, and ran outside with me as if I was a child being kidnapped.

The truth is: I had been standing outside the bathroom just trying to process what I had just seen.

"Where were you?" I asked her as we got back to the stage.

"Where were YOU? I was here when they started playing again, and you weren't here, so I went looking for you all over the house"

"You and Paul weren't where I left you"

"You're not enjoying the song; it's almost over" She began dancing and singing.

"You're going to have to tell me what happened later, Abbigail" I warned.

"Shush, later" She danced away from me. Avoiding the subject I see. I have to be stupid to think Paul didn't convince her again, but in the meantime, I should be convincing her not to be friends with Christina and Shannon, AND reject the invitation to that camping trip.

Everyone started leaving by 3 am, except for John, Paul, and their girls.

"It's late, we're heading home 'Miss hard to find'" I said.

"I agree with you this time" She yawned. "Are we walking home?"

"Of course"

"Isn't it dangerous?" She questioned.

"Mmmh" I hesitated. "Four blocks... either that or... No. It isn't. We're walking"

"I'm tiiired" She whined.

"Do not complain, you're staying at my house"

"Got it"

"Ladies!" That was John's drunk voice behind us."You girls are leaving now? Ivan can give you two a ride home"

Hell no.

"No, we're okay. Thanks" I said.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, John. Thanks anyway" It's not like I'm being an asshole. It's just I want to get the fuck out of here. The less I have to do with these people the better.

He nodded, and left.

Abby didn't like that; I could feel her eyes glaring at the back of my head.

"Why though?" Her red tired eyes almost popping out.

"Because I treasure our lives; that guy is as wasted as them"

She didn't say no more. We had a quiet walk home until I remembered what I had asked Abby earlier.

"So?" I asked as we got to my house.

"So what?" Her eyes wouldn't meet mine.

"Where were you?"

"You'd be mad if I told you"

Aha!

"I'll be. If you don't tell me"

"Chatting with Paul... just a few minutes" She admitted.

"What did you guys talked about?"

"He said sorry, and all of that"

"Did he try to get to you again?"

"I wish" She mumbled.

"Excuse me?"

"I'd struggle with resisting, but I'd back off" She bit her nail.

Maybe I shouldn't worry that much; she's innocent and persuasive, but she knows how to take care of herself. It's been only her and her mum- a single mother-since she was born.
