Chapter 19 "Nightmare trip"

Anna's P.O.V.

The party was great. Nobody got as wasted as in previous parties because they wanted to make sure they'd be alive the next day for the camping trip. Paul did not get any closer to Abby the whole time; however, his eyes were on her constantly. Christina didn't care Laura was around; she flirted with John on every chance she had, but she had no success because John was too busy loving Laura. He was happy...finally happy; he had a birthday party, the perfect girlfriend, and was surrounded with his close friends. His life seemed to be complete.

My conversation with Laura was taken to another level; she asked me to take her place if she were to break up with John. I don't know if it was the pressure I was put into, but you just couldn't say no to Laura. She's one of the kindest people I've ever met. I promised her if that was the case, I'd do it. Maybe it was a bad idea, but now I was just hoping she'll never dump him.

October 10, 1957

"I think we should get the Van this time; Jeeps are annoying, and we're not going to fit in those" Said Ivan.

"We should bring just one Jeep just in case" said Paul.

"I'm not sure; I don't think we need it" Said John.

We were on Christina's house again by 11 am. Her parents volunteered to help us with a few things for our trip, and they also offered to let us borrow their Van, but the boys were still debating on whether we should use it not. I couldn't care less; I was just a little upset Abby would not be able to come with us because she had morning sickness.

"It's bigger! Let's just fucking take it to camping" Said Ivan.

"Who's driving then?" Asked Christina.

"I am!" Said tall ugly guy.

"Sexy..." Mumbled Christina as they exchanged looks.

I don't know why these two keep hanging out with John; they betrayed him. If I was Laura, I couldn't just pretend like it was normal. It's not at all. Maybe John doesn't give a fuck about them, but how could you just keep talking to people who hurt you? Maybe Laura brings so much happiness to his life that he doesn't care anymore. Well, I do. I still hate them for what they did to him.

"Alright. Let's go then" said John as he started bringing his stuff and Laura's to the van.

I just realized he's become a gentleman with his girl ever since he met Laura; he wasn't like that with Christina. I doubt the idea of cheating on her will ever cross his mind. It's true love...

We got the rest of our stuff on the Van as well. Paul helped me with mine...

"Alrighty. Here we go" Said Christina's new guy as he started the Van.

"Seat belts on, please" I said.

"It's okay" said Paul as he got comfy to nap.

"This seat isn't very comfortable. Seat belt doesn't even work for this one" Whined Christina.

"We can switch if you want to" Suggested Laura.

"Thanks" She said as she quickly took Laura's seat.

That bitch. It was so obvious she did it to be closer to John.

Laura wasn't a jealous person; she trusted in John too much. She knew what had happened between Christina and John-and what she was doing to impress him- and yet, she did not feel uncomfortable at all.

"This is not the road we usually take" Said Shannon as she looked through the window.

"I know. This way we'll avoid the traffic to get to our destination" Said the guy who was driving.
