Yoongi's P.O.V.
I sat in bed scrambling lyrics into my notebook like I did every night. I used to do this with her. She'd use the note section in her phone instead. When she got bored, she'd shake my shoulder, then try to call me, and when I wouldn't answer, she'd throw a book at me. I still felt the dent the 3rd tome of Harry Potter left on my head last time. I chuckled at the thought when my roommate spoke up."She's the girl you talked about? Joo Minho? Your source of strength? She's cute." He laughed.
"Hey! You don't know her. Just wait and see until you judge. Keep your dirty hands off her as well. I let you know her. It's already too much." I glared at him.
"Ya.. Why are you being so scary Suga hyung? I just said she was cute." He sighed.
"Don't call me like that in front of her." I asked still writing.
"Why? You didn't tell her yet?" He wondered taking his nose off his computer.
"Of course I didn't." I stretched my legs out.
"Didn't you say it was your dream? That you guys shared everything." He took a seat on the edge of my bed.
"You're right, but dreams are not things we were able to share." I sat up.
"What do you mean?" He asked. Why was he so curious?
"She doesn't have dreams rapmon. If we were talking in metaphors, I'd say.. She isn't the main character of her own manga." I stated.
"Didn't you say she wanted to go to-" He started.
"Yes. Yet, this is a goal, not a dream." I sighed.
"You see.. Even if I'm supposed to be the philosophical one, I don't get you. Isn't it the same thing?" He said scratching his head.
Aish.. They're the same. So many questions!
"In the dictionary, goal and dream are not listed under the same definition Namjoon. You know that. A goal is a point you can reach. A dream is something you can only faintly grasp in your mind. Both are challenging, one more than the other." I got up to get to the kitchen. He followed me."Anyway. All of this to say, she followed because I'm her friend, not because she aspires to more. I will tell her when she finds hers." I sipped on a glass of water."Why do you protect her so bad? She'll have to get out there without protection and fall.. Then get up. You know that." He whispered.
I slammed my glass on the counter."You say it like she was a child. I don't treat her this way. I protect her from harm!"
"H-hyung. Calm down.. Why are you like this?" He backed away.
Namjoon's P.O.V.
I've never seen him this mad.
I glanced into his eyes. He barely told me about his friend and their relationship, yet I already judged it. I guess that's what I did wrong. He simply looked up to me and pressed a firm hand on my shoulder."She means a lot to me and I'm always by her side. When she cries.. When she aches. Now I'm not as close. She lived a lot. That's all I can say and I want to protect her smile like she did with me. Even if I don't want you too close to her.. Watch out for her when I'll be gone."
What the? And he just leaves me in the kitchen like this?
"What do you mean gone? You mean after your graduation?"He just smiled."You got that. Better not let me down."
Wow.. I've know her for 2 days and he spits this to me? I guess I can start to understand them.
Minho's P.O.V.
"Why are you looking at me like that Eonni?" I turned my head to her."Aish! Have you seen your face? You look so depressed! Is the thought of going to school making you so pale?" She jumped on my bed.
"Ya.. I'm just really pale. Stop that." I threw my pillow at her.
"Wah.. Why are you so angry today? No.. That's not it is it? Tell me!" She started."Oh! I know how I can make you talk. Wait here!" She ran out.
Is she serious? Why does she want to know me so bad? I mean.. It's nice, but it's weird.
She came back with a box. A pretty box filled with things she called her 'magic trick'.
"So. Tell me what is on your mind." She smiled taking my hand."You have really nice hands.. I think light pink will be pretty on these fingers." She squealed making me laugh.
"Thanks? Look, I never asked before, but what is your dream?" I looked at her carefully painting my nails. I never wore nail polish before.
Her eyes lit up."Me? I want to be the best designer in Korea!"
"Is that so? And your goal? What is it?" I wondered.
She chuckled."You ask deep questions you know that? I knew you were a bit of a nerd, but I never thought this much!"
"Please just answer.." I asked embarrassed.
"My goal is to be a designer." She said softly blowing on my nails to dry faster.
I tilted my head."Isn't it the same?"
She jumped up."What on earth did life do to you?!"
"What?"I rolled my eyes.
She held my face into her hands."Such a pretty canvas! Pretty face, fair tone, curvy hips, gorgeous almond eyes, yet no light comes out of them."
I pushed her hands away."You're so mean!" I pouted.
She pouted back at me."That's not what I meant Minho. At least I had a reaction from you!" She got up and brought back hot cocoa."Mind having some?"
My slight angriness washed away. I smiled holding the cup."Why are you being nice even if I just slapped your hands away?"
"Look." She smiled moving my hair out of my face. No wonder her nickname was Eonni.. She felt like an older sister."I know a troubled face and I'm your roommate and.."
"And friend." I softly smiled.
"And friend!" She grinned."So I want you to tell me what's wrong.. Why are you so trouble about dreams?" She asked, a gap between her lips as she applied a mask to my face.
"Well.." I started without twitching under her touch." I don't have any big dreams."
"And? It's okay." She reassured me.
"But next year-" She cutted me after 3 words.
"They ask you to choose your goal. Not your dream. Be at ease now. We have to get up early tomorrow." She stood up and started walking.
"Thanks for the nails.. They're really pretty." I whispered.
She stopped at turned around."They we pretty from the start. Go to bed now.. It's late." She closed the lights.
I went to bed thinking about her words try to sort them as foolish or as wise. Maybe will it be sorted later.
