Minho's P.O.V.
I kept the headphones tight on my two ears and listened again and again. I still couldn't believe it. It was my voice on that recording.. It sounded.. Good. I gazed at the screen watching the line move across my voice record.Joonie paused it and took the device away from my ears with his signature smile. "Alright in there? You haven't moved an inch or said a word. Is it that terrible?"
I slapped his chest. "How dare you call your work terrible?! It's.. It's amazing Joonie thank you."
He pressed his chin on top of my head watching the screen with me. "It's your voice. I only built on talent."
"Hey, Joon?" I lift my head up. "Are you still free this afternoon?"
He nodded taking his chin off my head. "Yes, why?"
"Could you show me around again? Some places I might enjoy?" I asked.
Namjoon's P.O.V.
I was thrilled she'd ask this. "Sure! I know just where to take you."She grinned. "Where?"
I grabbed my backpack. "Namsan Park." I'd never show my favorite place to think with anyone, she had a lot of things to think through from what we had talked about. This place might just help her.
We went there and sat under an enormous tree there. She took out a book out of her bag. "It's a good place to read.."
I nodded glancing at the clear sky. "It is. What are you reading?"
She handed me the book. "Kelly Armstrong. She's a great Canadian author. When I need to escape, I read that."
"What do you need to escape right now? While we're both here." I asked.
She put her book down. "What will you major in?"
"I'd like to be an engineer. If I can't stay in the Idol business long, it's a good back-up." I answered.
"Is your mother fine with it?" She added leaning her head on my shoulder.
"Being an engineer? It's what she always wanted. Being an Idol? Hell no! I had to convince her." I explained.
Her eyes looked up to mine. "How did you do that?"
I chuckled. "Not sure if she's convinced, but I wrote her a letter. I told her that I was 300th in scores in Korea and that I thought I could be number one in the Kpop industry. I asked her if she preferred her son to be 300th or first. So.. She let me do it."
She sighed laying down on the grass. "How can you be so courageous? I can't even think of doing that!"
I peered down at her. "Why? What's the problem?"
She moved her hands as she explained. "I don't know! It's just.. A feeling you know."
I layed down next to her. "What about it?"
She turned to me. "I want to tell them I want to be a forensic chemist, work with the police, but I just feel they really want me to avoid law forces.. I don't know why! I have that feeling they won't like it."
"Maybe asking them would be a good thing. Talk it out. See if your impression is right." I proposed.
"Joonie.. I'm good with body language. I told my mom I didn't want to do any jobs she enumerated and her eyes just.. You know in movies when someone isn't doing what the evil one wants the light just disappears from their eyes?"
I was familiar with the comparison. "Yes? What about it?"
"Well it was just like that! Mean eyes. I just don't get it. Why is it that when something makes me happy it makes others miserable? Tell me!" She rose up to lean against the tree. "Sure.. Happiness is Occidental, but come on. Don't we all want that?"
I laughed. "You really need to read."
She smiled. "Understand now?"
I came back next to her. "Can I read with you?"
"Sure, just move closer." She said making space for me to see the book.
We read for an hour or so. We stopped when the book fell from her hands. "How about I take you back to your dorm huh? Before you fall asleep for good?"
She denied my statement. "I wasn't sleeping. I was.. Resting?"
I hid my laugh. "Yeah right. Come on. Let's get some food before heading there."
Minho's P.O.V.
We got ourselves some noodles and chicken that I set on the table. "It's a lot quieter without Eunho here.""I can imagine.. She never stopped talking!" He pointed out.
I laughed. "Right.." The place was indeed empty. I was alone with my computer, my books, my things, but it didn't feel right like it did in Daegu. I got used to hearing her gossip about everything and anything. "If you listen carefully you can still hear her."
"So you'll be all alonr in there this year?" He asked.
I sat in a sigh. "Yup.. Pure silence to do my homework and lab reports."
"Wanna hear something silly?" He changed the subject seeing I probably wanted to think of something else.
I smiled. "Go on. If it's that Jin's wardrobe is more girly than mine, I know."
His head dropped in a chuckle. "No, but it is about the guys."
I moved closer to him. "I'm all ears."
"The guys and I wanted to go to the beach and wanted to know if you'd like to come. How does that sound?" He proposed.
My eyes went wide. "Yoongi was fine with it?" From his eyes.. "He never is! Sorry I asked." I hid how happy I was to get to a beach. I never had. "I'd love to. Thank you."
His grin was as wide as mine was. "Then Jin hyung will text you the address where we'll meet okay? I won't overstay my welcome here and see you Saturday." He picked up his bag. "If I stay too long Yoongi will be able to follow my scent."
We both laughed. "See ya Joonie."
"See ya Minmin. Take care."
