Minho's P.O.V.
Jackson joined us before entering. "Woah look at you guys matching."I glared at him. "Don't you dare mention it to anyone out of here you hear me?"
He laughed. "What? Scared Yoongi hyung will rip your throat?" By the look in my and Joon's eyes.. "You aren't kidding? Oh my gosh okay. I promise! Let's have a good night guys!" He pulled us inside. "It's prom afterall!"
Oh it was prom alright! We sat down for the dinner first. It was pretty funny watching the girls who decided to wear heals for the first time walk to the tables. Namjoon nudged my shoulder. "Ya, don't laugh at them. They wanted to look taller."
I smiled taking a sip of water. "Taller doesn't mean comfortable. You're the expert on that."
He chuckled. "I agree! Try bending down to the floor at 180cm? It hurts, that's why I pick things on the floor with my feet."
I nodded. "So if Jackson was on the floor you'd lift him with your feet?"
He denied. "No.. I'd kick hin to wake up."
"Hey! You're so mean!" He complained. He grabbed my hand. "I'll dance with her first then!"
I argued. "Jackson- I don't dance! I-"
Joonie laughed. "He sucks too! Don't worry about looking bad."
He was right, who cared anyway. It was just funny to see Jackson dance around. I was having a good time.
Namjoon's P.O.V.
After a bit of dancing and making sure dinner was over, the principal took the mic to speak. "Hello students! I hope you are having a good night. The teaching personal wanted to praise the excellence of two of our teams this year and we'd like them to come up on the stage for a nice round of applause. May the Basketball and swimming team come up?"Minho had her eyes wide. I pushed her. "Go Captain! Hurry up."
They received a warm round of applause as the principal talked about their wins and I could only notice how wide her smile was up there. She wasn't supposed to do sports, yet she was so happy doing it. She didn't know what she wanted to do in life and she finally figured it out. She took the chance to follow her friend out of her hometown and it worked better than she thought. I was glad for her. She changed for the best in the past year and a half. With that.. I had gained a friend too.
She passed her hand across my face. "Moonie? Earth to Kim Namjoon."
I focused back. "Sorry! Lost in thoughts."
She smiled sitting down. "A song in mind?"
I denied with a smile. "Not really." I got up. "Mind dancing with a guy who's so clumsy he mixes his feet while walking."
She chuckled. "I'd love that."
Minho's P.O.V.
The sun was slowly setting and the music was awfully loud. "Mind going outside in the yard?" Joon said covering his ears.I nodded. "Yeah let's go. We're getting squeezed anyway." We sat outside for a while taking fresh air. "This is nice.."
He sat playing with his hands. "It is.. I never thought I'd get anyone to come here with me."
I smiled. "Well.. Probabilities were high you'd come with Jackson."
He gently pushed me. "So mean.."
I laughed. "Sorry.. It's habit. I'm glad we're friends or I wouldn't have come at all." I ended up admitting.
He glanced down. "Yeah, Eunho noona told me that."
I frowned. "You didn't ask me because of her right?"
He jumped on his seat and denied apologetically. "No! I swear! I wanted to ask you since school began I promise."
What? Since September? "Really?"
He scratched his nape. "Yeah.. Sounds weird does it?"
I got off my seat. "Not at all, come on. Dance with me. That's what we're here for no? Soft songs are playing."
We could clearly hear the song Reason for the Secret Garden drama outside. "Please? We can try what I showed you."He chuckled. "You never give up do you?"
I pulled him up. "Not in my vocabulary." When we were face to face, he hesitated. I grabbed his hands and put them around my waist. "It's fine if I want your hands to be there Joonie."
He looked down at me. "Sorry Minmin, can't blame me for thinking about it."
I wrapped my arms around his neck. "True.. Thanks for thinking of it for me."
He smiled. "No trouble." We stepped left and right, not actually dancing, but it felt great. It wasn't awkward at all funny enough.
A couple of songs passed until we ended up just hugging, my head on his shoulder, and swaying from side to side. "Hey.. Namjoon?"
He hummed. "Hmm? Yeah what is it?"
What was I thinking? "Are we.. You know.. Only friends?" I hid my face in his chest. "Stupid question! Sorry."
I felt him hold his laugh. "Depends.. What do you think we are?"
I glanced up to him. "What do you mean?"
He moved my hair out of my face. "Well.." He swore in a chuckle. "I'm good with lyrics, but I can't talk."
I gave his shirt a stronger hold. "Maybe you don't need words?"
His eyes were looking straight into mine. Why the hell did I say that? This is not a drama! It's real life! Oh my goodness he was leaning in! I didn't think that would happen. I closed my eyes anticipating some kind of contact until.. "Hey guys! I was looking everywhere for you too! They're giving prizes to the smart ones, you should come in!"
Joon and I layed our heads on eachother's shoulders before walking up to him. I sighed. "Crazy timing Jackson.."
Namjoon laughed. "He never had any. Let's go." He held my hand until we were in front of the stage.
"So, we actually have three people from our school in the top 2% of the grades and 2 of them in the 1% so we'd like them to come up and reclaim a prize.. Please come up..Han Korim, Joo Minho and Kim Namjoon." The principal said.
Joon was as surprised as I was and helped me get up the stairs to claim our prize and take pictures. He even helped me down. "Wait a second." He went down then took my hand. "If you fall you'll fall on me."
I chuckled. "I'll try not to, thanks."
We came back around one in the morning. Prom was over, but a new step was graduation tomorrow and the next day move out to be with Eunho. It was a crazy week. It'd get even crazier.
