Chapter 2

                      The change

I sat there looking at the note. Astral project I thought. Odd. There was a knock at my door I got up to answer it but a man in a chef uniform walked in on his own fallowed by Carmen.  I ran and hugged Carmen. I looked at her and smiled

"what the heck did we get ourselves into?"

She laughed and sat on my bed. The chef had put our food on a table in the middle of the room and left. "I don’t know vee. Any way what necklace did you get I got this one." She held up one identical to mine.

"The same" I answered back. "So what is this astral project we are in?"

She shrugged

“I don’t know. I wonder what they mean by transformation." I shook my head. It was clear she knew little about this too.

        We talked and we ate and Carmen left to go back to her room. I was sitting on my bed when a voice came on to my buzzer

"if you have been given the paw print necklace, leave your room immediately and head down the hall to the lab."

I turned the door knob and stepped out into the hallway. It was deserted except for Carmen.

"Wow" she exclaimed "I guess we are the only two with the paw print."

I nodded and we began to make our way down the hall. When we reached a door that said libratory Dr. Finneck came out and greeted us.

"You will now go into your operation that will finish your transformation. When you come out you will be transported to your new school. You must not tell anyone what has happed over the last two days. Everyone at the school is like you."

He turned to head back through the door "what do you mean like us?"

I questioned him. He gave a low laugh

"you will see soon enough"

and he was gone. I and Carmen sat there for a good twenty minutes. Finally Dr. Finneck came out, took us into the lad and had us dress into operation gowns. A nurse laid us down and put on a mask. I saw Carmen fall asleep and I too was thrown into unconsciousness.
