Chapter 12

Two person pack.

When we arrived back at the academy, me and Alex walked to our spot, once Miss. Baker left us. We sat on the edge of the cliff watching the setting suns rays dance across the water surface. The wind whispered through the trees behind us. I looked at Alex, he turned his head. I gazed into his eyes. They held so much depth and sadness. The also held love and care for me, i felt the same way. Evan though we had met only a short wile ago, we were so close now i felt i could tell him anything. "I'm an only child. My mom is all alone, my dad was killed when i was ten." I don't know what made me tell him, it just sort of came out. Alex gazed at me for a long wile. He then said "i don't remember my parents. All i know about them is that i was found in the forests here, beside my mom and she was dead." I blinked sympathetically "I'm so sorry that you don't remember them." He shrugged off the topic. I inced closer to him leaning up against him, wishing he would kiss me, erasing all the bad things in the world. I looked up at him and he must have seen it in my eyes, because next thing i knew his lips were on mine, soft and gentle. I had felt the tears when we started talking about our parents, but only now did they dare to leave my eyes. Alex pulled away "why are you crying Vee? Did i do something wrong?" I shook my head and smiled. "No you didn't do anything wrong. You did every thing exactly right. Today was the best date of my life. I'm crying because i have never felt this way about any one before." Alex smiled back and kissed me again. This time more solid and blissful. I kissed him back. Once the sun was gone and the moon came up, we got up to go. But i stopped "what? What is it?" Alex asked. I said "how do you change into a wolf on command? I wanna run as a wolf with you, through the woods like a pack would." Alex gave a crooked smile "just think of turning into a wolf." I did that. I felt a ripple pass over me and i was a black wolf. I looked to were Alex had once stood. Now in his place stood a black and grey wolf. It had Alex's eyes. -wow. You did it on the first try. Most people don't get it right away.- i yelped and jump. I herd Alex's smooth, silly laughter. -i should have told you. Were wolves that have Strong emotional connections can talk to each other mentally. -i growled play fully -ya could have told me sooner- i thought at him. I turned and as a joke ran towards my dorm. I herd Alex pursuing me. I thought he could have easily beaten me. I watched as the trees blurred past. I felt a new sort of power surge through me. I lowered my head, testing my ability's, and shot forward. I had never ran this fast in my life. I felt the sort of rush you get when your on a roller coaster for the first time. I laughed in exhilaration. I skidded to a stop out side the back door of my porch. Alex caught up. -its time for our night call- Alex thought with out any explanation he raised his head and let out a long low howl. I joined my own voice into his. My howl came out as a strange, eiry, high howl. It didn't sound bad it just sounded foreign. I had never herd a howl like this. Alex lowerd his head as i did. We both changed back into humans, fully clothed, and walked towards each other, hugging each other. "We are a two person wolf pack. I love you vee." He gave me a quick kiss and turned to go, but i grabbed his hand, not wanting him to go. He turned back to me. "What is it vee?" He asked. "Don't go. Lets stay in the forest, on the beach or on a cliff. Anything, just don't leave." I said in a whisper. He took my other had and held my gaze. "Alright, but how about you practice using your powers well your a wolf?" I gaped at him "i can do that?" He nodded then let go of me "see you in the clearing in three munits." With that he was a wolf and he tore off. I changed too and shot after him, laughing in my head
