Chapter 21

I smiled widely. He froze there, unable to move. He was in a deep process. His body started to trembled, I could hear his shaky breath. He was trying so hard not to cry. He clenched his teeth tight, trying not to give away the fact that he was holding it in. He shut his eyes tightly, refraining himself from hugging me. He breath in and out deeply.

"Sans, I miss you," I said soothingly.

Then it hit him.

He knees gave out and he was about to fall. If it wasn't for me, catching him on time, he would fallen onto the ground.

"I got you!" I sling my arm around his body.

Sans passed out from seeing me. I realised he had bags under his eye sockets. He must.. Have been watching over me throughout the nights when I was unconscious. Maybe that resulted him in getting less energy and therefore he passed out..

I carried him on my back.

*You called out to Papyrus.

"Oh, I'm sorry Human. I forgot you were there."

*You gave a smile to reassure Papyrus.

"Human, I apologize for what my brother had said before. He is facing difficulties right now. He's been watching over me, taking care of me, being friendly to me even when I didn't remember anything. He choose to care about me rather than his own health so do give him a break as he is unwell currently. I'm pretty sure he didn't mean to say those awful things... He's just tired."

*You nodded and gave a smile to Papyrus, understanding where he's coming from.

"Thank you so much."

"Yes, everything is alright here. I guess I tamed the human. Don't worry, if anything goes out of control, it will be under my responsibility. Hey, Undyne... I'm sorry about before. You know, escaping from you," I smiled at her reassurance, "Thank you for understanding Undyne. I will see you if I have the time. Farewell friend."

I hang up the call.

"P-paps?" A voice called out.

My eye sockets widen and I went nearer to him. I hold his hand, "Yes?"

Sans looked at me. His eye sockets were watery. Then it burst out like a faucet. He embraced me that he longed for. He buried his face in my chest, trembling and sobbing. I know he needed this. I rubbed his back, comforting him that I am here and everything was alright. His whimpers were getting louder. I could feel my shirt getting soaked by his tears. He clenched tightly onto my clothes like I was about to leave him. A monster touch, was all that was needed to understand one's true feelings without needing to express it with words. I know he was letting out his desperation, guilt and sadness that he was holding in all this time. Afterall, I do know how it feels like.

"Y-you're real... I'm not... dreaming," he mumbled, "Finally..."

It saddens me to hear that. It shows that he was having false hopes or dreams that I would be awake.

"Hey, Paps... I never get to say it back... But... I love you Papyrus."

"I... Love you too Sans.."

Suddenly everything went... Blurry to me. Sans pulled away to look at me.

"Paps, why are you crying?"

I didn't know I was crying. I wiped my tears away, "I-i don't know... I think its because I never say it often to you...and I feel like crap that you never get the love back despite all the sacrifices and patience you had made for me" I took a breather and continue, "and knowing that it must be hard for you to adapt to me having amnesia makes me upset with myself. Not only that, you had to deal with me abusing you again and again. When I think about it, I don't even know why you even try to stick around when I'm doing the same things. I'm afraid that maybe one of the timelines, you would had given up on me because of how frustrating it was to build the family again."
