"Welcome home Dad!" Someone who had a similar voice as me, but a higher pitch, replied.

Some kid ran through my body which makes me startled for a moment. I looked at my hands and body which makes me perceived that I was just a hologram.

I bring my attention back to the kid and Dr. Gaster. Then I realised, that kid was me. A younger version.

I was finally aware that the helmet that I had put on was a invention that brings me back to my memories but what confuses me is that, everything here is way different than what I originally remembered.

Like for example, Dr. Gaster and young Sans had different appearances. No razor sharp teeth, no red pupils, friendly expression and genuine smile. Besides that, I clearly remember that I wasn't excited to meet him AT ALL.

Is this what Papyrus saw when he was hallucinating?

I looked around my surroundings and found myself in a living room of the same house that I am currently living at. It looks more brighter and less dull compared to now.

"Sorry son, the meeting with the King was longer than what I predicted," he sighs and wiped his own sweat, "and I got a lot of reports to do tonight and tomorrow so I don't think I would be able to continue our project."

"Its okay Dad! I finish all of your reports," Sans handed the organized paper to him, "Here, take a look!"

Dr. Gaster took the paper from him and read the reports one by one.

"This.. This..." He looked up to Sans.

He had an angry expression. Welp, that concludes that my memories are definitely real. Well that was what I thought till Sans said,

"Dad, just because you have an angry face that doesn't mean it will cover it up."

Wait what?

Suddenly, tears formed in Dr. Gaster eyes.

"Oh god, please no," Sans backed away.

Dr. Gaster tackled Sans into a hug, "I DON'T DESERVE SUCH A GREAT SON!"

"DAD GET OFF ME! WHY ARE YOU SO EASILY MOVED?" Sans was crushed by his hug.

Dr. Gaster pulled away with a frown on his face, "Why are you so mean to me?"

He and Sans proceeded to stare at eachother. Both of them chuckled then it turned into laughter. Then Sans spoke, "Anyways, I'm hungry."

"Hi hungry, I'm dad."

"You didn't..."

"Yes I did," Dr. Gaster ran off to the kitchen.

"You are going to get it!" Sans chased after him.

And there they go, leaving me here.

What the fuck did I just witness?

Since when did I get along so well with Dr. Gaster? There was not one time he and I laugh together. Let alone him being so... Sentimental. I always knew him as a serious person, who is obsessed with his work and would kill anyone who gets in his way. So why? Why is he so different?

I looked at the picture frame on the table. It was a picture of Sans and Dr. Gaster doing peace signs and wearing sunglasses, acting so edgy and cool. It make me chuckled without me noticing it.

I walked away from the table, and walked towards the kitchen. Dr. Gaster and Sans were cooking together. Smells like spaghetti.

"Wash the dishes will ya?"

Sans nodded and wash the dishes while Dr. Gaster checks on the sauce and the noodles. After Sans was done he closes the faucet. Dr. Gaster saw this and walked towards him. Sans turned to face him and gave out a confuse face. Dr Gaster reached out to Sans face and did a grabbing motion, "Got your nose!"

"Dad... We don't have noses..."

Crick crick crick.

He slowly turned away awkwardly and act like nothing happen.

"Everytime, Dad, everytime! You always dig up a awkward hole for yourself!"

I couldn't help but to laugh my ass off. Not only that he is sentimental and love to make dad jokes, he is also kind of awkward.

"Alright son! We have successfully cooked the spaghetti, I think?.."

"I hope it doesn't taste crap like the last one we made."

Sans and Dr. Gaster brought their plates to the table and sat down. They eat their food and spit it out immediately.

"Salty?"

"Salty."

"Pizza?"

"Pizza."

Dr. Gaster took his phone out. He dialled the number and called, "Hello? Yea, can I order One Large Pizza?"

"Psst, dad, asked them for extra cheese. I like it extra cheesy," Sans whispered.

"I would like the pizza to be extra cheesy please," he stop speaking briefly, "Alright, that's all. Goodbye."

Dr. Gaster walked towards the couch and sat down, "Don't you think you are getting a little too fat, Sans?"

"Sorry Dad, but I'm not a mirror," Sans smirked.

Dr. Gaster slowly formed a frown on his face and he created a non existence furrow.

"Oh cmon Dad I was just joking!" Sans sat next to Dr. Gaster.

Dr. Gaster puts the back of his hand on his head, "I'm deeply hurt, Sans. I don't think I could survive this painful wound that you have given me."

Sans shoved Dr. Gaster to the side, "Stop being a drama king!"

Dr. Gaster just laugh it out, "Ok, ok I will stop."

He proceeded to cross his arms at the back of his head, "Hey son, your birthday is just a couple days away. What do you want for your birthday present?"

"I don't know. I'm already happy with what I have."

Dr. Gaster kept quiet. It seems he is in a deep thought. Suddenly he snaps his finger, "Aha! I know the perfect present for your birthday. Besides, what you say before is completely false, there is something that you aren't really happy about."

Sans tilted his head, "what is it?"

Dr. Gaster puts his index finger on his mouth, "Se-Cret~"

"Dad, that is not fai-"

Suddenly a knock interrupted them.

"Pizza's here. I will get it," Dr. Gaster stood up and opened the door. He handed the money to the pizza delivery man. He took the pizza and closes the door.

"Alright, son, here is our extra cheesy pizza," he places it on the coffee table.

Sans took a slice out and eat it. Dr. Gaster joins in as well. Both of them were quiet till Sans spoke, "so can we continue our project tomorrow?"

"Tomorrow?"

"Yea. What's wrong? Don't tell me you are busy tomorrow."

"Not at all. I thought we will be doing it tonight."

"Tonight?! Are you serious?" Sans said excitedly.

"Of course. Why would I lie?" Dr. Gaster chuckled.

"But aren't you tired? You just came back from work," Sans gave out a concerned face.

"Not at all. Since my work is completed, thanks to you, I am able to continue the project by tonight," he carress Sans head, "A reward for a good boy like you."

Sans smiled brightly at him.

Suddenly my vision was blurry. I couldn't see things properly. I rubbed my eyes and there was liquid all over my hands. Why does my heart hurt so much to seeing this? My tears just won't stop flowing down. I looked at Dr. Gaster smiling warmly to Sans.

Where did it go wrong?
