Chapter 27

-2 weeks before war-

Hiccup's POV.

I have everybody the day off because Gobber needed help in the forge. So I went and helped him. It was a calm day and Astrid said she was going to train from 3 to about 6 so I figured I get to her around 5:30.

It was a good day. I sharpened quite a few weapons and made a few for some people. Gobber just left. It was noon so I figured a lunch break. I finished a sword and Astrid came in.

"Hey babe, almost done?"

"Yeah, I was just about to get something to eat. Join me?"

"Of course."

We left and went to the mess hall. We ate fish and talked about the war. Once I saw it was half past noon, I said

"Hey I got to go back to work. I'll see you later. I love you."

"Live you too! Remember I'm training later so don't disturb me!"

"Ok fine.."

I gave her a grin and ran off. It was a great lunch. I got to the forge and Gobber asked

"Where were ye 'iccup?"

"I went and had lunch with Astrid."

"Oh. Ok. You know, she is a great gal."

"Yeah I know."

"Your the chiefs son... You need to find a mate ye know."

"Gobber! I know. I was going to ask her soon. I don't know if I should before the war or after..."

"Well I would before. You never know what can happen."

"That's true. Thanks Gobber."

"You know. How about ye make a ring now? You have time. It's ok, I can do the weapons."

"You sure?"

"Yes 'iccup, it's ok."

"Thanks!!"

I started working on the ring to give her. Maybe I'll surprise her training with this! I got to work and it was going great. It was a perfect gold ring with deadly badder symbols in it. Than I engraved on the inside

"I will always love you"

It was perfect. By the time I finished the ring I noticed the time! It's 5:15!! I need to get to Astrid. I ran to where I knew she would be training and I heard voices. Astrids and....

Lankton's POV.

Im finally going to get my plan together. I heard Astrid say she will train today. So I was waiting to see when Hiccup ran out the forge to talk to her. I over heard him talking to Gobber about marriage. Perfect.

I saw him walk out the forge so I ran to where Astrid was. I saw her throw her awe and I said

"Excuse me, Adtrid?"

"Huh..."

She turned around and we were only a few feet apart......

Astrid's POV.

I was just training and I heard a voice. I turned around to see Lankton a few feet from me. Oh gods, now what?

Than he spoke

"Astrid. I needed to speak with you."

"About? You have some nerve to stop my training."

Nobody stops me in training but Hiccup.

"Astrid, I fell in love with you. I need you."

WHAT???

"What ar-

He just kissed me. What the hell?? I balled my fist and was about to punch him until I saw he's on the ground. Hiccup's on top of him. He was beating him. He punched his face so many times. I yelled

"STOOOPPPP!!!"

Hiccup got up. I started to tear up.

"Hicc-

"Don't you dear Speak to me. I come looking for you. And I find you kissing him? what happened to us? What happened to all the I love you's and EVERYTHING? Wha-

Just than Hiccup turned around. I saw a dagger half out of his shoulder bleeding. Than I saw Lankton smiling with a bloody face. Hiccup just kicked him in the stomach and Lankton hit a tree hard. Knocking him out.

Hiccup turned back to me, and spoke again.

"Go have fun with your new bloody boyfriend. Don't come near me again either."

Than he walked off throwing something at my feet. I was crying. I couldn't help but cry. Than I picked up what he threw. It was an engagement ring. I dropped to my knees and cried harder. I didn't know what to do. My heart is broken. And he left me there.

I cried there for hours with Stormfly by my side. Lankton got up a while back and left grinning. It was 9 before I left that spot. I thought I could talk to Hiccup when I got home. But when I got there, all his things were gone. He left. I ran to bed and cried myself to sleep.

It was horrible......

~the next day~

I woke up with my eyes red and puffy. I was crying so long. Than I heard a knock on my door. I yelled come in and it was Ruff. She ran by my side and I hugged her. Than she asked

"Astrid, what happened?"

So I told her everything. I told her all that happened. She looked at me with worry. Than when I told her and showed her the ring, she said

"Astrid, I'm so sorry. Let's go find Lankton."

I got up. I started walking out the door. Than I saw Hiccup. He glared at me and walked away. I saw the knife in his shoulder yet. Maybe he's going to Gobber to get it out.

Me and Ruff walked and found Lankton. He smiled at me and said

"Hey babe, I was wondering where you were."

I lost it. I beat him until he bled so much. He yelled

"Stop! Astrid, please Stop."

"Your going to help make Hiccup listen to me!!!"

"Fine, fine!! Just stop hurting me!!"

I got off of him. He looked at me in horror. I pulled him to where the team was supposed to train. When we got there everybody asked

"Where's Hiccup?"

So Ruffnut told them what happened. They all wanted to hurt Lankton. But we all ended up coming up with a plan. A good one too.....

This a good chapter? I thought it was. It sets up the next few chapters and the next book. Just all in good time.
