Lance stood up and walked out to the ocean. Once he touches the water, he is teleported to a pool. It is the pool that he grew up at. It was massive with long course and short course. Upon looking around, he notices that he's at his practice with all of his friends. He looks over at the board and sees the set. It looked interesting. 20x{100 half kicking in streamline, alternating between stomach and back. then the other half was Fly then half free. This set seemed like fun. Lance has been swimming for years at this point, and it all came naturally. Lance felt slightly on edge for some reason though he couldn't explain it.
He jumped in, and all he could feel was cold. His friend Ivan helped pull him up. "Yo, dude, you know you can't just jump in man, you gotta dive!" Ivan then did a perfect relay start right over his head, making a face at him as she did so. Lance just stared at her as she streamlined half way down the lane. Lance chuckled before going after her.
It has been a while of swimming, and Lance was losing control. SloB was always hard for him, he lost all body control and it made him nervous to be so vulnerable. He also didn't like the way that as others swam by him he would get water in his face, and he would feel like he was drowning. He hated drowning.
He couldn't breathe.
The water filled his lungs.
He inhaled sharply.
He was too distracted on trying not to drown.
He hit the wall.
He heard the sharp shrill screech of the lifeguards whistle three shorts times, and he waited.
The water filled his lungs. He felt himself dying. He wouldn't survive.
Warm, muscular arms wrapped around him, pulling him out of the sea of chlorinated death leaving him. Lance knew enough CPR to know what should happen next, he should feel sharp pains on his ribs. But he never felt it. They were going to leave him to die. Lance found the sudden strength to move, and curled up into the fetal position and cried. Suddenly, Lance felt someone rubbing his back, he opened his eyes and noticed that he had shifted into a sitting position holding his knees, and his coach was crouching next to him, slowly comforting him down from his attack. His coach knew that home life was hard, the entire swim team did, it was hard to hide the scars along his back, but no one cared. No one patronized him, they all treated him the same as one another, and he liked that. His coach sat with him, and let Lance calm down. After he was calmer, he asked if he could go on a walk. His coach, understanding how Lance likes to calm down, said yes, but to grab a robe. Lance nodded and grabbed his large baby blue bathrobe and went outside.
It was cold and wet, Lance saw a light dusting of snow on the ground, and he took a deep breath and began walking to the front, taking deep breaths as he went.
When Lance got back to the pool, they had moved on from the SloB, and Lance got in and swam. As soon as his friends saw him, Ivan and Aaron immediately go in and give Lance a hug, to show him that they care.
Lance wakes up to see that he was back in the castle, and back in Lotor's bed, in Lotor's arms to be exact. "Hey blue one, are you okay? Those things have some nasty side effects." Lotor reached down to brush a stray hair off of his young paladins face, but was greeted by Lance hurriedly scurrying away, screaming.
All lance saw was an angry, drunk Cuban, his father.
