[modern AU]
Sakura opened the door to the café, holding it open for Sasuke to walk in behind her. The strong smell of coffee surrounded them as they made their way to an empty table, Sakura told Sasuke to sit and wait for her while she ordered them something to drink.
"Hey Naruto!" Sakura grinned as she walked up to the counter, the blonde boy who was busy staring at the floor blinked before looking up.
"Ah, hey Sakura." He greeted. "Do you want the usual?"
"Two of them, actually." She replied.
Naruto raised his eyebrows. "You're here with someone? That's a first, I forgot you had friends." He teased, causing the pinkette to roll her eyes.
"Haha, so funny. Can I pay now?" She asked, a small smile on her face after Naruto's amusing antics.
"Mhm, I'll bring your drinks to your table. I want to see who else can tolerate Sakura Haruno and her inability to leave her house."

Sakura sat with Sasuke as they waited for their drinks, Sasuke had just begun explaining how he found Sakura again - this time in much greater detail.
"I knew it was you when you opened the door, you look exactly like your description in the book!" He said, leaning back in his chair.
"Sure sweetie." She replied. "Anyways, what happens to me at the end of the book?"
"Tell me what happens to me first."
"Fine, you eventually go back to your hometown where you work on bettering yourself and earning the trust of the village back. A few years later you marry the 'love of your life' who for some reason was unnamed, and you have a daughter."
"Woahh, that's great!" Sasuke grinned. However, his grin slowly turned into a frown.
"What's wrong?"
"Ah well you see, in my book you-"
Naruto suddenly came up to them, holding two drinks in his hands.
"Hey Sakura! Where's your friend?" He asked.
"What do you me-"
"You die, Sakura." Sasuke interrupted.
"Wait up, what!?" She looked back at Sasuke.
"Sakura?? Are you okay? Why are you talking to yourself?" Naruto asked, concerned.
Sakura took a breath, she felt dizzy. Why would Sasuke say that so out of the blue like that, and why couldn't Naruto see him? She turned back to Naruto.
"Sorry, I was just thinking to myself, I guess I got too caught up in my thoughts..." she mumbled. "My friend is taking a call outside, he'll be back in a bit!" She explained.
"Ah, okay..." Naruto nodded, before setting down their drinks and quickly walking away.
Sakura leaned back in her chair and sighed, before looking back up at Sasuke with a chilling glare.
"Explain yourself."
"Why are you so angry..?" Sasuke asked.
"Because you made me look like an idiot! Did you know that no one else can see you? And why would you blurt that out all of a sudden?!"
"Uh, well you see.. when you asked me about what happens to you, I didn't have an answer. When that Naruto guy came, you started to wonder if maybe you died, so that's what I said!" Sasuke explained, confusing poor Sakura even more.
"What..? How did you know that!" She demanded.
"Okay first, take out your phone and pretend you're talking to someone, people are looking at you as if you're crazy."
"Well, I'm starting to think I am.." She replied, however she complied and took out her phone.
"Alright, you created me." Sasuke said.
"How? You can't keep saying all these weird one line explanations, it's making you look sketchier than you already are."
"I'm a figment of your imagination, I'm only real to you. You've become attached to 'Sasuke Uchiha' as he's the main character in the book you've been reading. You're a lonely person, Sakura. You never leave your house, and you only ever text your friends or occasionally call them, when was the last time you saw Ino?" Sasuke asked.
"A few months ago.." Sakura mumbled.
"Exactly, my purpose here is to help you break out of your shell a bit. You're a bit of a hermit, do you even know who your neighbours are?" Sasuke asked yet another question.
"No.. but how does that prove I'm a hermit? I'm not in my house right now, am I?" Sakura responded.
"The only other person you've talked to is Naruto, I know that you saw TenTen, Rock Lee, and Neji sitting by one of the tables outside. You purposely pretended not to see them to avoid having to speak with them!" He accused.
"That's not true! How would you know, anyways."
"I only know what you know, Sakura. The address in the book I showed you, was Karin's address from your book. My personality was taken from one of the many people you've interacted with in the past few years, everything I do, say, and feel is connected to what you're thinking or what you know."
"No offense, but how do I get rid of you then? You're here to break me out of my 'shell', right? Well I don't need you to, or even want you to." Sakura asked.
"I don't know, you created me. I guess you can get rid of me if you want." Sasuke shrugged.
Sakura made a face, but closed her eyes and looked as if she was concentrating extremely hard. When she opened her eyes, Sasuke was no longer in front of her. Shrugging her shoulders, she threw out her empty plastic cup and picked up the drink she ordered for him. She then walked out of the café and made her way home,
Unaware of the sneaky duck butt trailing behind her.
