Prompt: Michelle sets a surprise date for (Y/n) and Peter who both don't have dates to homecoming. The two don't realize it is a date, and they begin to like each other.

Warnings: first date jitters (I've never dated lol)

M O N D A Y

The bells of the busy Thai restaurant rung with the door opening, letting in the loud noises of Queens seep in. A smirking Michelle shut the door, surprisingly energetic as she searched for a special waitress.

"(Y/n)! Get out here!" Michelle yelled to her only and best friend who was a waitress at the bustling restaurant.

(Y/n) mom's friend opened the restaurant, allowing (Y/n) to come work over some difficult conditions. (Y/n) hated working there, always busy and never paid enough. It didn't help that her boss was a piece of work.

"Ssh! I'm working idiot," (Y/n) smirked at her friend, pouring more tea into a costumer's cup politely.

"Guess what I just did?" Michelle asked, confusing her best friend. "Nevermind I'll tell you: I set you up for a date on Friday night!" Michelle put her hand up for a high-five but never received one.

"Oh no, MJ," (Y/n) put her hands on her temple, rubbing it slowly to stop her incoming headache.

"Oh yes, MJ! And it's with a guy I think you'll really like," Michelle smirked, knowing the mystery guy was someone (Y/n) had crushed on him hard since the sixth grade; and the guy really liked her too.

"You know I can't operate if I'm just tossed around without any heads-up. Like on an unexpected date," (Y/n) grumbled, picking up the dirty dishes from an empty table.

Now unbalanced, (Y/n) placed the dishes harshly in the silver sink, rushing out in frustration to her friend.

"I've never dated before. What if he might talk too fast? Or he asks me questions about myself before I've decided he can ask me questions about myself?" (Y/n) angrily asked Michelle, trying to explain why she was afraid. Michelle shrugged, not really sure about dating.

"What if he sits too close? Or call the waiter by his first name? Or eat Oreos, but eat the cookie before the cream?" (Y/n) started rambling, becoming more nervous with butterflies filling her stomach.

"That's all little things (Y/n). You're paranoid," Michelle waved off, trying to relax her friend.

"But it's not just that Michelle. The reason I haven't ever dated - besides no guys ever liking me - is the fear of what if I can't?" (Y/n) cried out, wiping the tables sharply as she shook her head.

"What if when he sees me, what if he doesn't like it? What if he runs the other way and I can't hide from it? What happens then?" (Y/n) tried to hold in tears, wiping her sweaty face with her sleeve.

Michelle suddenly felt guilty, not really knowing what to do with her lack of experience in friendship.

(Y/n) began to let more tears roll, trying to hold in quiet sobs. She turned her slightly red eyes to view her friend, shrugging tiredly.

"What if when he knows me, he's only disappointed? What if I give myself away, to only get it given back? I couldn't live with that," (Y/n) shuddered, trying to make herself believe that she never wanted to date in
